it amused me how Aldi wiped down ((sanitised?), the butchers block that Lumi parks her bottom on 😆. Been reading Tattle have you Aldi?

Except ole Lidl doesn’t have exotic leather Birkin 🤣 she wishes!! Love I can hook you up with my gal on WhatsApp who can procure it WITHIN YOUR PRICE RANGE if you want 🤪

Sorry but that is one ugly car! And why does she need yet another one? ( I know it is vic!)😂
I responded with much (probably unwanted) needed sense. “Not the vomit inducing Millen green 😭😩

This is slightly O/T but bear with me as I try to make my point 😅

Has anyone seen/heard of the influencer Nikhol Johnson? She’s popped up on my YouTube shorts feed a bunch of times.

Her brand is built around age at any style, no beauty rules blah blah.

Maybe I’m just a young cynic but I feel that Nikhol deliberately tried to market herself as older than she is through her hair and clothing style (she is 47 which IMO is still young) to garner views. She always starts her fashion shorts in her underwear while getting dressed on camera - something I wish all influencers would stop doing, it’s so unnecessary. She wears a LOT of Carolina Herrera and flouncy gowns that I think Lidl wishes she could afford.

Here’s a link to her channel, I hope it works:

If Lydia doesn’t completely destroy her career and have to leave the industry in her 30s (here’s to hoping) I can’t help but think this is what she’d turn to in her 40s, but with far worse execution. She already tried the English coastal grandmother thing to be a little controversial and get more views & already dresses far older than she is, so I don’t think this is much of a stretch for good old Lidl really. Maybe she’ll grow her hair out grey too?! 🤭

The whole setup reeks of a lazy way to try and get views & it seems very Lydia-esque.
I think Nikol focused on embracing her grey hair which is great IMO being free not to feel forced by society to hedge grey hair. Her Bob hairstyle could be styled more casually though and think her designer clothes are consignment and vintage. She puts passion into her videos whereas lydia is more look what I have, I want etc no authenticity about anything she is interested except it her latest “I want” piece.

Where do you listen to it? I kinda want to but refuse to pay for the drivel. Those narcissist videos people have posted here - I dare not diagnose anyone of a mental health issue, but in my own opinion often identify H and M with some of those traits.

As for Lidl, @Allexie01 touched on such a lightbulb moment for me at the start of this thread - if you are going to push out luxury “content” then you have to become educated. People who buy this tit generally have had decent educations, but Lidl knocks all of their comments down and just wants to pander back to the folk who very oddly claim she knows a lot. Yuck.
Okay the trick is to open a new account on either Audible or Audiobooks and use up the free credit AND cancel your account sub before the free trial runs out. I would rather die in Siberia than give Harold and the Fraud any simoleons.

The likeness to Lydia is merely superficial, Nikol was a model and she is knowledgable about fashion, her content is authentic to her life now. I’m not a subscriber but I can appreciate how she is relatable to women who’ve been around the block a few times.

Fking woman has no sense of humour. If she is this thin-skinned, lame in responses, and insufferable in public comments on her own pages - imagine what she’s like in real life!!??

I think downloading it during the free trial still counts towards its success numbers but at least you don’t have to pay for it.

Real question: anyone work in marketing here? I have heard influencers make real good dollar, and even if we dislike Lidl she will be paid more than handsomely for her work than she deserves. That being the case, anybody have an idea of the going rate for these sorts of posts or publicity?

I recognise this thread is really active and has been so for years, so apologies in advance if this has previously been covered.

What happened to Nicolson's? I thought that they were building cabinets and installing that ridiculous concrete sink in the R2D2 kitchen. I noticed during the latest soiree at The Bung Hole that those TV antenna trees looked to be in the way and really serve no purpose.
I was wondering why they haven't completed the job..
it must kill Lidl to have people round and it not be finished.

I work in marketing and PR, and my company uses influencers to showcase products.

You often have a pyramid programme. At the bottom, you have many influencers who are sent a bundle of freebies in return for showing them on their channel (pr gifts), then you have a few influencers who are paid to create advert reels, images, etc (ad). They’re often not paid that much if they’re small channels, but it’s dependent on their amount of followers. I know Hinch was getting £20k for a single insta post at one point. Then, depending on the company, you’ll have the brand ambassadors, who are contracted to do a certain amount of advertising on their channel and are often spokespeople (think Vic with Victor&Rolf etc), who are paid a lot of money, given freebies, trips, proper PR for the company.
All companies have different schemes, as do the influencers they employ.

ETA: Lydia could very easily be sent lots of products from my company but she’s been blacklisted for a few years 😊

The Ericas GW thing was brilliant - proof we know she is loathed!

The latest TT is a joke. We can all buy Chanel shoes, take photos in them and send them back you know Lydia!

And why would a 'busy' influencer reply to so many pointless irrelevant comments?? Tattle-tale - clear mention there!

Not entirely OT I’d argue. You are right, the deliberate tricking of viewers (older, younger, fatter, thinner) has to stop. It’s not cute or authentic.
And yes so does the freaking underwear start. I understand it’s part of their brand deals with lingerie companies, and I might respect that, but yeaaaah. Not exactly high class content, is it. And it should be hidden behind that opaque warning for people who value decorum and decency.

Thank you! It’s nice to understand a bit more about how this industry works. Is Lidl an ambassador for any brand at the minute? It’s so confusing for a non-marketing person like me to pick out esp from her shady disclosures whom she works with and gets freebies from and what she pays for.

Would you know why some influencers get blacklisted? Is it because of a bad experience (what would amount to this?), or because of industry reputation from other companies / influencers? It would be interesting to understand why Lidl was blacklisted, but if not comfortable sharing then a general viewpoint on why companies work with some and blacklist others would be very insightful and much appreciated!

Very good point, I think it’s the inauthenticity of these influencers that really rubs me up the wrong way.
But it does sound like Nikhol really knows her stuff about couture, makeup and colour theory so I can respect that!

Yes just look at teefers she will sell everthing and anything, completely contradicting herself. Just say I am a sales person and I promote anything I am given.
