I’m not sure about Chanel but I’ve had great experiences in Mulberry, Goyard, and Hermes in London*. If you’re polite and considerate I find SAs are too. Though this should also be how we treat staff at Zara etc!
The thing Lydia doesn’t get is that at Chanel (and definitely at Hermes) the bag you want isn’t always in store, and of it is, it might be put aside for a regular customer who the staff have an exisiting relationship with. Especially in London, where there are so many super high net worth customers. (If anyone is planning on a special bag purchase, I find the purse blog forums really useful and informative for navigating in the designer bag world. It’s just a fun read too.)
(*Disclosure: I’ve only ever bought a scarf and a bracelet for my Mum at Hermes, and own two Mulberry bags and one Goyard. Paid for by me!
