What I find funny is Lydia is turning herself into a grandma to appear to be rich and from old money, whereas you have Amelia Liana who actually comes from a very rich family acting completely different. Lydia is posting videos of her playing boules and cutting lemons whereas Amelia is posting videos of herself from last night dressed in a cute little age-appropriate Alex Perry dress, drinking, singing and dancing on tables to celebrate her 30th birthday. She also has a ton of friends there which Lydia never has.

Lydia is just wasting her life away, I know out of those two what I would rather be doing.

Her youtube rant is just so hard to watch. She’s extremely offended that people are slagging her off and calling her out of touch, banging on about how anyone can have her aesthetic if they are thrifty but has no awareness how that comes off given that she spends thousands and thousands on achieving the aesthetic. It would be different if she truly had cultivated a kitchen garden in little pots on a small balcony, or if she had done up her house with marketplace finds but the truth is she has done nothing but spend money to achieve this fake lifestyle and can’t see how smug she comes over when she bleats on about it. Once again though, she is the victim. And it’s not anything she has done, it’s peoples perception of her and what she says. Ive noticed her saying that more and more now and it’s basically her saying “I’m perfect, I don’t put a foot wrong and if you can’t see that it’s because YOU aren’t looking at it the right way”

You can hear Lydia's voice in the background, although she isn't shown once. I find it fascinating how they all "curate" the people in their vlogs. Obviously they're still tight enough with the Rectom Duo to enjoy evenings together, but don't show each other's faces out of what, drama avoidance in the comments? Lydia doesn't consistently support Josie or other influencers with "likes" except for Rosie, who is another mystery to me.

Why are all these young women so bent on looking mumsy? Rosie looks to be straight out of a SNL Mum skit, down to whatever you call that hair style. Good for Amelia, she is having fun and enjoying herself with her friends. Whatever people think of her background and family, it is what it is and she is very fortunate financially, but she also has lots of friends, and friends in the industry as well, and people genuinely seem to like her. Of course she is an influencer and paid to promote products and lifestyle stuff etc etc, but she is acting age appropriately and dancing and drinking and having nice holidays and fun, and she looked great!

does anyone know if her Dad has a "con artist" bent to him? or is he a legitimate business owner, who plays within the rules. His love of flashy cars.....I don't know..... there is something about him....like he wouldn't mind doing a dirty deal if he got rich on it.....

A lot of children of con artists pick up on their skills.... Im not saying she is of that level.....but children who learn to see that as normal behavior will do anything for a paycheck, as it is what they think is "normal"

I want to know what Lidl deems “coming from wealth”. She didn’t come from wealth, but her family had a second home in FL and her dad/stepmom had designer goods? She may not have wealth, but she definitely has privilege and the downplaying of that IS condescending. It might be free to enjoy nature, but for many people who can’t afford to take the time off or have responsibilities that prevent them from doing so or don’t have access to transportation, etc etc etc it’s not free/easily accessible. The fact she can’t recognize her intersections of privilege - white, skinny, middle class, able bodied, fluent in English - and gaslighting people who call her out for that, is WILD to me. She’s purposefully ignorant to the advantages she’s had that allow her the lifestyle she tries to portray online.

I had the same reaction. It’s a mediocre hotel suite with a blah view. She didn’t gush over her sponsored Maldives room and it was nicer. And she was being paid to promote it! Weird.

ETA: do we think that she actually paid for the London room? That would make more sense. She and Carrie paid for a base room and then got that upgrade. She could have felt genuinely treated and lucky.

So 100% yes to all of this but it doesn’t answer the question about why she never shows it on her channel. If she’s paid to promote she actually needs to promote. Something is going on. It’s laziness or shadiness but given that Elsie is obsessed with making money I find it so strange that she’s not milking the cow and doing her job. Wait…I cannot believe I just said I find it strange she’s not doing her job.

I have come to doubt her authenticity and integrity owing to Hermes “non-boxings” that I wouldn’t put anything past her. Also can’t believe that I just said I’ve only come to doubt just with Hermès. She has been fake for far longer.
