I think it's like Big Brother where they'd give them lots of alcohol but wouldn't show them drinking excessively.

I've seen a few of them stumbling around at night and looking bleary eyed. I suspect that it's edited so that they don't look too obviously drunk.

Off topic but remember when bb gave them non alcoholic wine but didn't tell them and they still seemed smashed
