Honestly I think what’s missing from LI now is the producers are not looking for actual matches they’re putting in personalities without any consideration as to whether they’ll like each other.

Look at s2 for example. Cara and Nathan had an immediate connection and stayed together until the end. Then when they had popular people like Olivia the producers looked for someone that she’d like and now they’re all married. I don’t know it seems as though they’ve forgotten that actually falling in love for real, actually brings out the best and worst in a person. And that’s where the drama comes from!

You also see a major difference in the relationship dynamics. In the old series when there were real feelings and the couples were hitting a rough patch (how things would be on the outside / rubbing each other up the wrong way / wanting different things) they would actually try and work through them and that’s more interesting to watch. Now a couple hits a bad day and that’s it, they’re over and no one cares. Biggest drama from s5 came from Amy and Curtis and that’s because she fell in love with him.
