They also orchestrated the story of Chloe being a maneater. The promo video before the show even aired made that pretty clear. You could tell from the initial reaction on here that she would end up getting abuse.

I still don't get how people can't see that her promo video was produced for entertainment to set up her arrival as a man stealer. They do it all the time with new arrivals by building up a particular character before the person reverts to being their actual selves after their arrival.

I think Iain is still the highlight. Any Love Islands from elsewhere are not the same without him.

Laura Whitmore doesn't really make much of a difference as she will only feature a handful of times. I'd prefer someone else, but it's not like she's on it enough to really make a difference.

Bit of a jump to say the reaction on here equated to the amount of abuse Chloe is now getting. You decided to mansplain Chloe because some women, me included, took exception to her comments and I called her a wrong un. Yes I dared to make a judgement on a reality TV thread based on a 2 min promo cos thats how it works. She is a 25 year old woman, clearly intelligent and not some dummy who's mouth the producers put words into. Time will tell if she's a man teef on love island I'm not arsed bring the drama I say but words have consequences and if she didn't want women to think she liked married men she shouldn't have said what she did. What was said on here has no corrolation to death threats.

My post did not say the reaction here equated the abuse she is getting now. I'll repeat my point that you could tell from the initial reaction on here that she would end up getting abuse. That is not saying that posts here are the same as the abuse. In other words it was clear from the initial reaction she would be unpopular. They knew what was coming and they created that villain role for her. I am criticising the production of the show as it painted her as a villain.

It's not at all a coincidence in my view that her promo is about stealing men and her first appearance is her coming into to "steal" a guy from the initial couples. That seemed clear to me just from the promo alone and that is why I said what I did on here about her. I knew that within a week of the show we would be reading about her getting abused. I felt it was pretty clear that line was in for entertainment purposes and she would be in a man stealing role (hence the previous discussion). I never felt she was literally saying she shags married men.

As you say, words matter.

But she's complicit she chose her words and her "stealing" a man who was a stranger to his partner 24 hours ago was not really the actions of a predatory woman or a villain. She had no choice. There were no spare men and no one cared anyway.
I know one thing every woman on that show will get abuse at one point. While the men will get a relatively free ride.
 
Totally don't agree with the death threats being sent to Chloe like what is wrong with people 😅 calm down.
Chloe made herself a very dislikable person once she started banging on about taking other people's men as if it's a sport. Yes videos are edited but she literally said those words, non of the other Islanders said anything like that in their promos.
Even if the producers asked her to say that, that was Chloes decision to say that. If she is happy to be portrayed as a home wrecker for a reality TV show then that is her choice. In a perfect world she wouldn't get any stick as it is just TV but this isn't a perfect world and she would be very naive to expect zero backlash after taking on that role.
I just can't believe how self destructive these people are for potential fame.
 
Chloe came across badly in her video and then as she was the reason someone went home that made her potentially more unlikable. There’s a difference however between saying oh she’s a bit annoying or her voice is annoying to receiving death threats end other nasty comments received. Especially as the sending someone home thing is entirely out of her control and set up by the show for attention/drama etc.

She is actually growing on me a lot and I found her clips after her chats with Brad funny and she seems to have calmed down now.

I still think you're missing a big part of my point. That promo video is meant to be entertainment. I think that you and others overly dramatised what was said. Whereas I think it's simply a joke about stealing men coming from someone who was about to appear in a reality show where her first role is to couple up with a guy already in a couple. It was a joke to create a character of a maneater. I said at the start that I didn't think she would actually be like that once she was in the show. That's the same way Maura was treated when she initially arrived as a cock mad loon.

And once more, no that is not equating the initial reaction here to her family now getting abusive messages on social media.

Hey I'm also HOH, for me it appears that subtitles don't get put on ITV catchup for a day afterwards, which makes us feel really left out. I would not be able to follow along watching on TV, subtitles aren't there or are really delayed. So I watch live on ITV website on my laptop & plug in my earphones/headphones so the sound is straight in my ears, could that be a possibility for you?

Laura just doesn’t do it for me.. she just doesn’t have the personality or charisma that Caroline had :( and tbh I don’t think Maya Jama has that either.. I almost think, there’s so many ex islanders now, it could even be good to have one of them be the hosts 👀 I could see someone like liv attwood or Maura make decent hosts 🤷🏼‍♀️
