Whew the lowkey victim blaming on this thread tonight is not it. FYI, it’s not Gemma’s responsibility at 19 years of age to be a “role model” to people watching, I don’t care what anyone says. She’s one of the youngest contestants to ever appear on the show and I think she’s done pretty bleeping well in dealing with Luca most of the time, especially if you take into account that she’s still learning and growing herself. It’s alright saying she’s just staying with him to win but in my opinion I don’t think she gives af about that, the girl has basically been a millionaire since the day she came out the womb ffs.

Totally agree with this

Genuine question so I hope no one gets offended.
Why the complaints to ofcom? I’m wondering what they achieve?
I hope everyone can see how awful Luca is acting, Gemma included.
I agree he should be called out, however I don’t see this as an ofcom complaint issue? Unless I don’t understand their rules of course.
If they get too many complaints would they take the show off air? And therefore taking away the whole show for all of our entertainment

I guess my point is that your post seems to highlight a positive in someone winning money from that sort of controlling situation, or being able to live off family money as being positive. We need more young women to know their worth and work hard and earn their own coin without becoming subservient x

I was actually making the complete opposite point and I thought that was pretty clear? I’m saying she doesn’t need to win and she doesn’t need Luca, obviously she’ll be successful in her own right without him or her parents. My point was I don’t believe she’s staying with him to win, I think she genuinely likes him and can’t see that he’s gaslighting her. Honestly don’t think my point could’ve been any clearer and just to be absolutely crystal clear, there is NOTHING positive about Gemma staying with that hole 😂 x

If this is deemed entertainment, I'd rather it wasn't on TV. Yes I get the whole "don't like it dont watch it" but young people do..and judging from comments on SM they think this is OK. Its not and never will be OK

Because ITV has a duty of care to all the contestants and they should be handling abusive/toxic situations better, if not removing them entirely. This show doesn't NEED this kind of behaviour for the dating competition format to function, so if ITV can't make it without platforming that behaviour and allowing other contestants to be subjected to it then yeah, ITV shouldn't be making this show anymore IMO.
