Im the same age group as these islanders and honestly don’t get the exclusivity thing. I’d cringe SO much/probably get the ick if someone asked me can we be “exclusive”. Like sure asking someone to be your bf/gf after a while is fine but not even everybody needs to do that to establish where they’re at. But the exclusive thing coming before that seems just an unnecessary step, it’s like tiptoeing around the concept of a relationship if anything? If anyone asked me that question I’d be questioning if I want to be involved with them anymore tbh it’s almost like commitment issues - if they’re willing to go exclusive then why not just skip that step and be boyfriend and girlfriend?
 
The whole dating scene is new to me these days, like im past it... so do people act like this when they see their friends kiss, they scream like lunatics, have marriage proposals to ask someone to be exclusive, which apparently on love island is not boyfriend and girlfriend yet. Its just a step in that direction. I'm sorry I'm confused what the actual duck!!!!
