I don’t think it’s private school, I think it’s the Top Hat and Louise that did that. I had a similar childhood to Louise and I went to a private school for some of my education and I literally would not say anything to anyone.
---
I was shy anxious and scarred for most of it and nothing would change that

With respect, we agree to disagree massively on this one. But like everything, there are good schools and not so good schools. I went through the private education system so did my three children and I have also worked in one of the leading independent schools and all those children who entered the school as shy anxious etc left as strong personalities, overflowing with confidence, public speakers etc. There was no chance having completed pre-prep, prep and senior school one would slip through the net!

What about neurodivergent kids though? I’m autistic and had selective mutism (which is very much not selective!) and not a thing could change that. I’m a pretty confident person now but thats mostly masking. As a child and teen I would rather sit there quiet and laughed at than even move an inch never mind speaking in class!

Private education is not a guarantee of success and certainly not a guarantee of developing a strong personality . You can’t just throw money at this

I expect she will have some mild success purely because of her circumstances. She has a mother who can and will throw money and time at her, she is at private school which are more flexible about time off, her mum mixes in the right circles and knows how to push her into the limelight. Louise would never admit these advantages although she must be aware of them.

I must have been one who slipped through - I went through the private education system and I can confirm I have anxiety and the thought alone of public speaking makes me want to vomit!

I will say that the people who I know who went to Private school are arrogant!

I dated a guy years ago who had been through the private school system and he was the furthest thing from being confident. He had severe anxiety and was painfully shy. Darcy will be brimming with confidence because her mum tells her she’s brilliant at everything and she’ll not get any sort of reality of her limits. Parents are supposed to praise their child, of course they are, but a healthy dose of realism isn’t the worst thing in the world. I’m pretty sure Pearl will be getting all the negative feedback Darcy is due.

Oh no she's overwhelmed again! "Do you get overwhelmed or is it just me?" Yes of course we bleeping do Louise because most of us work a normal 9-5 and have to juggle childcare and normal life yet somehow we still manage to not need clear outs every 10 minutes!
I genuinely don't think she's making as much anymore as she had that office and employed people. So why can't she now hire a personal assistant that organises her deliveries and home to an extent? And she must have a cleaner but never mentions one!

Obviously I am only talking about my own experiences! Many private schools do not take neurodivergent pupils, not saying that’s right just saying!

Again due to the small class sizes and constant monitoring of pupils and league table results, if a child is not developing as per projection, the parents will be advised that it is not in the best interest of the student to continue at the school. Again, I’m speaking from my experience with several leading independent schools. There are always a number of children who leave throughout the academic year due to not fitting into the school life - be it level of homework, failing to gain expected performance levels, attending school on Saturdays for sport fixtures etc. All children are monitored and given a % of how they perform against their peers in a term and shown to parents at each term parents evening. If in the bottom 5% you are expected to pay for extra lessons. This is why parents pay in excess of £20,000 per child, and yes they do expect results for their money! Else they take them out!

Very true!

the trouble with that is, as soon as she hits the real world and someone tells her no or points out she's average she'll have a meltdown and go off the rails - or more than likely, follow in mummy's footsteps and marry the first decent but boring 'good egg' that comes along and quickly have babies so she has an excuse not to put herself out there for rejection

Ia this Louise trying to be relatable? I can’t believe she’s calling a gifted PR cruise ‘travelling for work’

especially when she is one of the influenzas who has her house decorated for Christmas from mid November - and not simply decorated, but professionally decorated - #relatable 🙄 - with the £3k she puts aside each year with her careful budgeting that everyone could do themselves with a bit of ✨manifestation✨ - and if you don't, it's because you are useless with finances and simply don't want it badly enough. it's hardly on her to-do list when she pays someone to adorn her house with tacky decorations. 🤷🏻‍♂️
