Well I'm in Spain right now and it's 32 degrees. It's amazing, I love it.

But I'm wearing nothing I actually brought. You can't even think about shorts. I have one linen dress from Next that's light enough but you really can't wear anything else. It's either floaty or nothing tbh.

It’s her massive ego that won’t allow her to get over it, she thought she was the dogs bollox on the radio when in fact it was her and her boring mundane weekend show was the reason she got the boot.

A friend of mine works as a researcher there and said she just wasn't taken seriously by anyone, the place is full of people wanting to work on the hard hitting politics end of things and then there's Louise. She also walked in on her taking selfies in the bathroom mirror - twice 🙃
 
She is postively gleeful about the RTE drama. Not a nice trait in someone to be so petty and hold a grudge. And by the time they talk about it on the podcast the story will be over a week old and will be old news!

I was thinking the same thing, she’s on now complaining about FOMO. Get over yourself and spend some time with your children.

She has a better social life than I do and I don’t even have kids! Those festivals are not cheap events.

He never came out and corrected the incorrect figures though over the years when it was misreported. As far as I am concerned he’s a slimy bastard like the rest of them in RTE. on his radio show and late late saying that “we’re all in this together” while he was happy with RTE under reporting his already extortionate salary

He’s not an employee so it’s not a salary. Yeah it looks bad for him now that he didn’t raise it that the figure published by RTE wasn’t his full fee but the it is RTE’s obligation to disclose what they are paying. It’s not the contractor’s obligation to ensure RTE are booking things correctly. Unless we later find out there was some deliberate collusion between them, then it’s RTE’s fault but it has damaged public opinion of him.

I think it's fine to want to focus your career in the lighter side of broadcasting. Not holding her up as a notable broadcaster in this field, just that having an ambition to report on politics doesn't necessarily indicate greater talent.

100% this. And he has to file a tax return for any non-salaried extras so he knew damn well. And also knew the story would come out, hence his sudden Late Late departure. RTE can go sing for their license fee from me. 😤

This post just confirms that you don’t understand what actually happened. He’s not salaried at all. Everyone has to file a tax return. He never said he didn’t Know he got the money. He said his own company recorded the full amount.
He said he didn’t know why RTE accounted for it differently. Only RTE knows that.

He’s been very publicly listed as the top paid presenter for donkeys years. Did he clarify/enquire with his employers why taxpayers money was grossly underreported in this way? Did he duck. While preaching about hard times for us all during covid and RTE with the hand out for more saying they’re broke. Smarmy prick like them all in Montrose.
 
Even RTE is referring to his payment as a salary. But what ever it is classified as … he took an official pay reduction and preached about it publicly knowing it was propped up by ‘off book’ payments … it is rotten.
