Linkin park

I don't think they should be calling themselves Linkin Park with only three of the original band touring. The new song is good but Emily butchers the original songs. I can't bring myself to go and see them and I would describe myself as a huge die hard fan of old, saw them a LOT of times, have some LP tattoos.

Can't say anything on Instagram without being called a 'hater' by people who weren't alive when Hybrid Theory came out.

I think that's a problem with music a lot at the moment. LP were formative music for me (as I'm sure they were for you and others in this thread!) with me being 11 I think when HT came out. Never got the chance to see them live and that's my biggest musical regret as I was offered tickets to their MK Bowl show and I didn't go as none of my friends liked them. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but I don't think it's at all fair to pretend that this iteration of Linkin Park is anywhere close to how it was before Chester passed away.

I just wish they’d totally rebranded and changed their name. They’re not linkin park anymore. From what Chester’s son has been saying, it seems like this has been in the pipeline for a while, if so that’s super shady and super crappy of Mike and shits of Chester’s memory.

Especially if this Emily character is as awful as she’s been made out to be (which if she’s a Scientologist I kind of believe tbh, I just listen to some of the stuff that Leah reminisce has mentioned and it’s bloody awful) and the fact she would even defend that tit bag Danny Masterson and then lie about it. I just don’t buy her schtick.
 
Changing the name is silly especially when 2 of the 3 founding members are still in the band. Chester wasn't a founding member although the name did change to linkin Park when he joined but to change the name when they are a household name already would be a bit extreme, everyone would still refer to them as linkin Park. So many bands go through changes in members and although the circumstances with Chester are devastating there's no right or wrong way they could have done this. Granted the new singer is a very controversial choice but people would have complained and have had different opinions regardless. Its guaranteed if they got someone who sounded exactly like Chester and changed their name people would have complained. Its just a shame fans can't be happy that the remaining members, especially the founding members, have their band back and are back doing what they do best
