I've just had a total (probably bollocks) epiphany rewatching season 1. The ocg boss is Scottish. Jo is Scottish and, Martin Compston is really Scottish. I've always wondered why he's playing an English character - couldn't be just have come from Scotland?
What if he's related to Jo?
I also just googled the origins of the name Arnott

And apparently Steve means Crown - is Steve H?! Is he head of the group? Is he actually Scottish? Have I gone mad? 🤣

I’m also thinking Ryan might be a goner soon, but think he might try and take Kate down with him too. Ryan failed to kill off Terry, after him saying there was another man (I’m guessing Ryan) and Kate is suspecting him.... jo knows that too, maybe she’ll tell the OCG that his cover is blown. And especially now Steve is on to him too....

I agree, but then I am wondering what his future will be in the storyline, now that he has been rumbled?
I wasn’t expecting him to get rumbled so quickly (even though he should have been), and why was he not given a false name?

I think he will feature heavily in tonight’s episode, and will at least attempt something dreadful (again).

And what will become of Terry now? Safe in a secret location or will his security be infiltrated by the OCG?

I really fear for Terry, I just hope I’m wrong!! I think you’re probably right about Ryan though, now they know exactly who he is (and probably start adding other things up), I’m not sure what future he has with either the police or the OCG. I wonder if they’ll make links to Lisa McQueen and realise she didn’t exactly tell them everything she could’ve when she was given immunity 😬

I think Ryan will be in if for a while yet, as the OCG will be needing him to get more information from the computer databases, he’s far too useful to them in that respect. And will his access allow him to find out things such as Lisa’s new identity and location? I do fear for Terry and any others in safe houses. How long before Steve and Kate work out his links to Lisa?

Oh he’s definitely still useful for them in many ways! But maybe not quite so popular having bodged up getting rid of Terry and being the only police officer to walk out of the lake alive 😬. If he’s being watched they might be reluctant to ask too much of him.. then again they might do the opposite and want half the police force dead 🤣. I wonder how long Steve/Kate will keep watching him before they intervene.
 
Another thought that’s just entered my head, so Lisa got given a new identity and lives on the coast somewhere (if I remember the closing scenes right and im not mixing her up with another character), who’s to say she’s not still living her previous life and controlling certain areas of the OCG? And, something I thought first time I watched S5 and still wondered about when I rewatched it, I thought she was another deep undercover police officer whose cover still hasn’t been blown.

I think it was Gill who was relocated to the coast at the end, Lisa was given a new identity too though and works with schoolchildren discussing crime/trying to dissuade them from crime. You could be right though, I don’t see any reason why she couldn’t potentially still be involved in some way. She never told anyone about Ryan and said Miroslav killed John so she’s definitely still covering for him if nothing else!

I assumed at first that she was the undercover officer but I guess that was just a red herring! Or was it 🤔😂😂

Ryan is listed on IMDb for all episodes. Hopefully he'll come to a nasty end in Ep. 7. If he doesn't end up dead or in prison, it might be an indication that we could be getting another series. He surely won't be allowed to get away with at least 2 murders.

I loved the ending of Series 5, when Gill realised she had been rumbled. She secretly phoned for help, expecting a heavy mob with guns to turn up and rescue her, like they did with Dot in Series 3, but this time AC12 were ready for them.
