WHY CANT SHE DECIDE THINGS FOR HERSELF WITH HER HUSBAND. FFS.So in the latest house saga... two shelves or three??! She can’t visualise so needs a vote. She’s infuriating. Who gives a duck and does it honestly matter.
She clearly has zero other things going on to care this much about something so immaterial.
It’s straight out of the influencer handbook- every day run a poll on Instagram stories to keep engagement high and boost your instagram squares in searches. Right next to - every day ask an inoffensive question or request for help/ recommendations to keep engagement high (and tip off advertisers as to what you are in the market for).WHY CANT SHE DECIDE THINGS FOR HERSELF WITH HER HUSBAND. FFS.
capitals were needed - the shelf thing pissed me off I voted 3 cos I think she’d want 2 (More minimal and less crap to have on display) And I wanted to give her some self doubt

I was wondering about the island the other day. To me is just a waste of space, no one actually sits there for breakfast. I would have make it smaller, maybe like a U shape kitchen and she can still have her insta worthy breakfast bar.Lily’s before and after floor plan.
you can see how they’ve made the space between the living room and kitchen a glorified corridor. Its just such a waste And that’s why they can’t put any furniture there and it’s just become a dumping ground.

I mocked up what they could have done. But I realised their island is so big ...in fact it’s soo big for the space. It should have been made a lot smaller but I bet lily just had to have a massive island. The space would actually work better with out one to be honest. By partitioning a separate lounge putting their loo under the stairs they could have got a second living area in that space with a sofa and space for grey to play and some storage for her toys.
the washing machine could have gone in a cupboard off the hall too.
Love that theyve rowed over shelving too. Both so useless! But for me it all stems back to bad design that’s why they don’t know what to do with that bit of the house.

I should add the green rectangles are my attempt at illustrating sofas/chairs and storage in that area.

I only started following Lily when she got pregnant so missed all the major reno works- did they live in the house at all when they first bought it or was it uninhabitable? Not defending their decision but I know that the plans we had our house have changed dramatically in the 2 years we've lived here based on how we actually use the space rather than how we thought it would be used.
they lived in the house for maybe a couple of months? Trust me it was completely liveable and the kitchen and bathroom didn’t even look that old. maybe it just needed decorating to their taste if you see what I mean. It also had lovely original fireplace in the lounge which she ripped out.
ive lived in my house 5 years to save before extending and means I know what will work better. Lily didn’t even give that house a chance, she pretended they were going to live it in and do it up then all of a sudden they moved out and started a Reno. Except that was lies, because they needed planning permission to extended which they would have had to apply for 8 weeks plus before starting so she knew all along she was going to extend. She just wanted to pretend they were doing to do it up.

A few months?! The thing is, if she said look, we designed this house with this being our life in mind but actually having a kid has made us realise that this would have been better, I wouldn't mind and actually could probably relate much more and it would be useful to anyone else who may be buying a project house and/or starting a family. It's the fact that she just grumbles about it and makes it sound like Grey is the inconvenience rather than the house itself.
Will she write to HM for a refund
I have this basket in the brown as opposed to the black and I’ve had mine a lot longer than she’s had hers. Mine is in my bedroom as well darent look at it.
Yeah me too, she has to keep the content going... hope a blogger buys her current house and would love to see how they trash talk her design decision. I hate bloggers or influencers trash talk the design selection of the previous owners. There were some designs like avocado bathroom/ sky blue bathroom/ red wall were classic at that time and this is design, it changes according to time. It seems like their pea size brain can never comprehend this logictotally agree. No one is perfect and there’s things you no doubt get wrong when doing work on your house. but I cannot see lily swallowing her pride and admitting there’s things that don’t work for them now or don’t work as she imagined.
I honestly think they will move again in the next 2 years.
