Why would there be a system in place for this? The world doesn’t revolve around influencers. Also why should she be allowed to profit off using independent artists music in her paid posts? Is she going to pay them to use their music for commercial use? If not then she can do one.

It’s not unheard of, many creatives (not only influencers) need royalty-free music and there is a system in place! There are dozens of website for completely free royalty-free music as well as subscription based professional ones.

I’m just surprised her management doesn’t slap her for asking such questions from her audience!

For the billionth time, this woman is such a bitch. She whines about being creative and from a musical family and then she puts this shit on Instagram?? Is she for real right now? She’d never work without credit or pay, and now is whining that she must look for music and find royalty free.

Also that backhanded dig at Epidemic Sound! They are absolute lifesavers and have a great library. They’ve served her very well over the years.

Absolutely disgusting human being this one.

Does it HAVE to be royalty free for insta, is it a stipulation? Or is this for her pocket?
I don’t think it’s an instagram specific rule. But because she’s getting paid for the content it’s technically commercial use and therefore she needs to have music which is ok to be used for that which is what royalty free music is basically for. Same rules apply on YouTube which is why YouTubers have to be careful with what they select as background music.

so if an artist uploads their own music to a royalty free or commercial music library then she can use it. But most don’t do this because why would you not want to be paid.

It has to be royalty free, otherwise the videos are de-monetised, as it's a way for people to just put a shit video up, tag a popular song, and get paid for it instead of the artist getting paid for their content.

Just as Lily would never post a video that wpuld siphon her proceeds to Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift is not going to give her music to Lily for free for her to make money.

Why Lily, as a "professional" marketer, doesn't already have her favorite royalty free songs bookmarked is beyond me.
She's probably trying to find a pop song on there when she could easily find lofi and jazz on there no problem.

Eyeroll.

Well according to lily this is what London mums wear to do the school run!

this is defo what half the kids at school wear - their mothers wouldn’t be seen dead in UGGs 😂

I know I am repeating what so many have said before, but how can you have access to stylists for the best part of a decade and have access to beautifully cut clothing…. And still have ZERO idea about what suits your body shape and what shades best flatter your colouring.

The Fashion Lift used Justin Bieber for an M&S ad though? That won’t be royalty free.

They will have foregone monetization on that video. A company can still pay an influencer a flat fee or a cascade fee based on views; a company like M&S just wants more customers in the door. There are probably a lot of fee and payment options- what Lily is telling us here is that on top of whatever the company pays her, she is unwilling to put up a video that will be de-monetized

Ahh right, that makes sense! Thanks.

Stylists cost money, Lily is too big to be paying for a stylist, they should work for free for the exposure

She’s literally dressed like every 14 year old girl you see in town on a Saturday. What the hell is she wearing?!
I've thought this for the longest time... why does she dress like she's gen-z and constantly follow trends that are for gen-z?
Yet she moans about not liking the way things look on her. Maybe buy clothes that will actually suit you and not a 16 year old?
