Historically, she’s banged on about Clinique take the day off and Kiehls. Those brands are fine when you’re younger, or it’s all you can find (I’ve lived in a couple of places where I had to use a lot of Kiehls in my routine, bought from the airport, bc there wasn’t so much other selection. Wasn’t happy about it!)

However those types of brands aren’t going to deliver the long-term, high-impact results that we can get nowadays from skincare. I can also tell, just from watching Lily’s nonsense over the years, that she probably never build her own skincare routine through research and professional consultation. She also probably wants everything to be from a high street type brand or stuff that she can affiliate link. And this is silly in 2022; we have the internet from which to learn and so many amazing products out there beyond the AL.

I don’t think her eczema prone skin helps the situation either, but having temporarily just gone through neck and eye eczema that we think was brought on by Covid, the vaccine, stress from an international move, OR a weird sunscreen reaction (maybe all 4😆) I was able to adjust my skincare routine without too much drama—after treating the eczema with a steroid cream and help form my GP. Right now, my routine includes all kinds of well known Western brands, like Dr. Hauscha, The Ordinary, Dermalogica and Caudalie. But I also use stuff from random places that Lily would deem as weird, like oils from Living Libations, Japanese products like Allie sunscreen, Korean Skin 79 and loads of Hada Labo. Plus I’m not afraid to get injectables or laser to top up my investment. Because unlike Nanna’s who thinks that every big Toteme purchase is an “investment”, I do view my skin as one bc it’s what everyone, first and foremost me, sees every day and I’ll literally wear it to the grave.
 
I don't know if it's my reluctancy to get out of bed just yet, but I actually watched Lily's video this morning (2x speed obvs)! It's a chatty one and it features gems lie "brainstorm-y" and "admin-y". Oh, and the word of the century "genius".
She'll continue to make yt videos but sporadically, as it's "not rewarding as making reels or tiktok" and she wants to spend the weekends with her children and be present (fair play on that part).
Surprisingly, the new bed seems to be her own purchase! But the mattress could still be partly gifted (she did moan about it being expensive. It hasn't arrived yet).

Oh, and she shows her rank knickers with a hole in them!

I can understand wanting to spend weekends with her kids. But why can’t she upload weekday instead… it’s not really a valid excuse to not do your job properly 🙄

And nice to add 'first time for Grey at the beach where she's old enough to care about it' as she had comments about her saying it was their first family holiday.
I can't with the '-y'.

She plays tennis? Who knew. What a shame she will not vlog it. ;)

And then I was 6 min in and could no longer cope. My goodness you're boring, Lily.

Hahah 6min is great. Anna is like 1 min

Lily openly telling everyone that Grey’s bday is coming up soon… to keep the PR gift rolling in. But she is not a mummy blogger.

I think jojo was baking a cake for Grey yesterday lol of course her aunty is hosting because Lily is useless. She is more like a surrogate mum at this point

Lastly, Lily doesn’t understand Tiktok. Tiktok looks easy because it is short but to grow on Tiktok, consistency and niche is the key.

I had a sample of the Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm and it was horrible. It just felt like I was rubbing my face with Vaseline. I have however tried The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and that was an absolute pleasure, and it is a fair bit cheaper than Clinique too. Lily's recommendations are laughable.
 
So she buys those Karen Millen trousers and cannot think of a top to match with them. There’s a matching top on the website….
