I get what you mean, but they are just in the packaging, it’s exactly the same as you’d see in any shop.

Just out of curiosity, how comes you wouldn't recommend? Fleur De force was absolutely frothing at the mouth about electric cars and everyone in general is mad over them but would love to hear a balanced view. Especially when it comes to 15 years down the line when we're stuck with all these batteries we can't recycle

The infrastructure just isn’t there at the moment if you need to charge away from home. It will be in time, but it’s years off. Apps saying chargers are working and you get there and they aren’t, Then there’s the waiting to charge. You can guarantee the ones with only one or two chargers are always taken. Plus a lot of chargers are only 7k, needs to be at least 50k to charge in a decent time.

The grid itself is also a million miles from supporting electric cars as the norm. People will routinely charge overnight at home, and our grid simply couldn’t handle that simultaneous demand if most of the country were using electric cars - it would require massive infrastructure overhaul to supply that amount of power.

That said, we’re currently looking at buying either a Polestar or a Tesla Model Y when they’re released here (probably the Polestar, as they reckon they’re shipping to spec by November) - however, we’re a two car household, so we’ll still have a diesel for longer journeys, and I can’t envisage many scenarios in which we’d charge away from home. I def wouldn’t go with an electric as a single car household at the moment, nor for the foreseeable.

I’d hazard a guess that she’s buying or leasing it as a company car and taking advantage of the fact that it’s a) a pre-tax expense for the LTD and b) effectively a benefit in kind write off, as there’s a massive incentive on EVs (1% this tax year, versus 35% plus at top end of emissions). So basically no personal outlay, and lowers her company tax bill.

Lily and Rich have attempted potty training a few times now, but haven't followed through because it's inconvenient. Let's see if it happens this time around.

I also had a poke around google street view of the road and there are barely any driveways converted on her street, everyone is keeping the lovely Edwardian front gardens. Surprised she managed to get permission from the council for a dropped curb in this case, it must be because it's for an eLecTiCrIc car, they are obsessed with them... :rolleyes:

Our electrical grid can not even handle warm summers, it was almost down this year because of people running their AC. How would it handle electric vehicles? A lot of it seems like a pipe dream. The entirety of North America’s electric grid is much more sparse in comparison to UK and Europe, because the distances are so much greater. It’s a real challenge for the US and Canada, in terms of private vehicles and also electrification of public transport.

Well exactly, buying a brand new car is also not a smart decision if you are budget conscious. But leasing is worse bc you aren’t building any capital and the down payment fees are just like throwing money away. I’ve never heard a financial advisor recommend that; in fact the opposite - most I know are vehemently opposed to it, as it’s a bit of a debt trap. I have many friends who’ve gotten sucked into the vicious lease cycle and it really takes a toll on finances, which is why I’m like aaaack, I can’t believe Miss Freebie would do that! But I guess she also always needs something new and she is only fake budget conscious, as her wacky reno logic shows!

I guess if you NEED to always have a brand new car, and you have disposable income and that’s how you want to spend it, then a lease might have benefits as opposed to buying brand new every 3 years or so. I def don’t understand that logic either since I could care less about cars and like to spend my disposable income on travel or my home!

I feel really lucky that we’ve always been able to layout the cash for a late model, but still used, and live debt free. Some of that’s been necessity bc we’ve lived in a bunch of different countries and you can’t always get a car payment straight away, depending on your visa. Drive the cheapest car you can stand and live in the best house you can afford is my mantra!

And she has better representation than Gleam, lol. They seem like such a joke these days. I know it was innovative when they started repping influencers, but the “big names” like SHILLY on their roster have all gone stagnant.

Don’t know if she’s still with M&C Saatchi, but it def seems more fresh and youthful over there in comparison to Gleam!

Must admit their reply really put me off the company. I agree sustainable and Lily Pebbles do not in any way go together. It's actually laughable.

But it just proves that this is all about pure ad revenue. No one cares, not the influencers, their agencies or the brand's as long as the money is rolling in the door. Although, still not convinced anyone is personally asking for Lily....she just comes along in the Gleam package deal

Completely - we waited until second baby was 3/4 months old before we toilet trained first, and he was (day) trained within a week and night trained very shortly after.
She’s dumb - Grey has some big changes coming up - moving her room, new baby, starting nursery, her grandparents have moved and now toilet training. Plus she’s probably due the 2 year old sleep regression and maybe some more molars. Poor kid!

My only question was, does Barbara have a tattle-thread? I can’t find any, but somehow that’s happened before with people who actually have a tattle-thread. The reason I‘m asking in Lily‘s thread is, both are LONDONERS, both very much care for a conventional lifestyle.
 
RE LA vlog: I went through her old GG thread to find the apology - of course reeks of entitlement. I genuinely think that if she made the comments now, and then used this as an apology it would end her career. No wonder she’s worried about being cancelled considering she was this close.

It also seems that she announced the purchasing of her flat, and then also Rich proposed a few days later that would have taken the attention from this incident

So what they “meant” was they were disappointed that those two girls didn’t add to their expected LA Uber Pool experience of meeting new people. Proceed to call them “so rude” and saying “I don’t want to hear aNoThEr LaNguAge” and Anna “I don’t even know what it WAS!”. In the snarkiest, most condescending tone ever. Gosh, there’s so much to pick apart here, but for now I’ll stick with telling Anna that there’s no reason to look down on people if you “don’t even know” what language they’re speaking. It just shows your ignorance and lack of curiosity if you’d rather complain about not knowing what language it is than try to figure out which one it is. Gah.

How I read this 'apology' is basically Lily saying that what she was trying to say was fine and it's not her fault if some stupid plebs misunderstood her!
