Lily’s losing followers.

Her gleam page still states that she has 490K subs on youtube and 435K followers on instagram. https://www.gleamfutures.com/lilypebbles

In reality, she currently has 480K subs (10K less than they claim) and 433K followers (2K less).

She's been losing consistently for years now. I recall at some point she had 491K subs, but that was years and years ago.

Why would anyone ask her for makeup or skincare tips? And Lily, if you’re reading this… trim those brows!!!!

Also isn’t this room supposed to double as a guest room occasionally? Imagine sending your guest up to a room with hardly any light to it so they can sit in the dark.
Realistically though, how often do you really have guests staying over. That would never be of influence on my interior design decisions. The guests will be fine with a standing lamp or whatever they put there. Any guest not wanting to come over because of the lighting situation can stay away.

No but resale should be a consideration especially when she’s already mentioned multiple times they might sell up in a couple of years for school.

Plus it’s polite to consider your guests if you’re making a room specifically a ‘guest room’. Plus lily has said one day it might be their bedroom.

Plus it’s way better to have to overhead light and not use it than not have it and realise the room is too dark and have to add it in which means holes in the walls and ceiling to thread wiring to it…

Even though she’s losing followers she does have a huge following consideration her content is utter tit. It’s in Gleams interest to keep her onside and get her more crappy misoma/ hello fresh/Astrid deals to get their %. I think they’d only cancel her if she did something overtly inappropriate hence she never says anything about anything, because I think she on some level knows she’s too dumb to voice an articulate opinion but not dumb enough to ruin the good thing she has going.
Ps: what happened to charity of the month 😏

She will sell that house with no problem, spotlights or not. I’ve had spotlights in my house taken out, they were so ugly. It gives me office vibes. I tell you, having them removed was also quite an annoying chore. But it really is a matter of taste.

I don’t think not having spotlights equals sitting in the dark. Their potential guests that stay over once or twice a year will be fine. But maybe other people have guests more regularly than me. Or they’re more polite than me!

I genuinely don’t think I’ve defended Lily ever before, but apparently I feel very strongly about the unwritten rules of spotlights. But not to worry, I’ll be against our moody Lily next time again!

If I stay over at a friend's I'm usually up late/probs on the wines. The last thing I want to be doing when I go up to bed is pissing about with a load of lamps. But it's their house so whatever.
I do think it makes sense to do the wiring now in the build stage, just so that they're there if ever needed - they might reconfigure the use of the house or more likely sell given that she bangs on about it enough. As she's got her eye on selling at top whack it's all the little touches that need to be factored in.
Like, at my house we don't currently have a fire in the living room, but the connections for gas and electric are in if we ever wanted one.

I’m not saying spotlights. I’m saying the fittings for a normal overhead light which she’s not doing by the sounds of it. Two wall lights and a desk lamp is not very much light for a room in the attic. It’s going to be dark to sit in.

The only way Gleam will drop Lily is if she gets cancelled. And she's terrified of that. She's mentioned it before and you can tell by the way she doesn't engage with ANY topics which are slightly political. That and she doesn't really have the intelligence to understand such topics - I'm sure she votes whichever way Lionel tells her to.

Her numbers will slowly decline as she's not doing anything to build her audience. She refuses to go down the mummy blogger route, she refuses to switch up her content, she refuses to embrace new platforms, she hasn't built 'Brand Lily' the way Anna has curated her own brand. Fundamentally she's lazy and hates change unless she is in control over it. Whenever Instagram adds new features she gets so wound up about it - it's actually quite funny because it's clearly her own frustration at not understanding whatever change they make but she reacts with anger.

No you didn’t, nobody did actually. Somebody said they don’t understand she will not have an overhead light and multiple people started saying why they personally don’t like spotlights 😛

I was literally so confused why everyone kept telling me they were against spotlights I never mentioned them 😂 I don’t like spotlights much either.

I just think it’s practical to have the fittings for an overhead light because it’s not much light to just have a bloody lamp in the room and for guests, or lily ‘working’, them maybe using the room as a main bedroom in the future and potentially selling the house having an overhead light makes sense. Because adding it at a later date will cost more and cause the room to need to be fully redone.

We’ve got both. Dimmable spotlights and soft lamps which we use more often. They’re handy for when you need extra light.

Exactly sometimes lamps are just not enough light!

Some kind of overhead lighting. Spotlights or just a normal bloody light is practical to have. (although I understand why some people are against spotlights they’re a specific taste).
