I just saw the cartoon and if all the supposed 'common anti-semetic tropes' weren't pointed-out to me I would have just thought: "Oh, it's a cartoon and it's pretty good". But yes, I agree, if it had been in the Daily Heil they would all have wet themselves. You know the only people who lose out on all this crap the meeja tit out? Us.

Is t he cartoon still available? The Guardian have pulled it. Is it still available anywhere else - I feel the need to be offended !

Was just thinking, it's a Bank Holiday tomorrow, you'd have thought Lammy would have wanted to spend it a home with his family seeing as he's a good Christian man ... maybe enjoy a day off from his busy schedule. 😒 Nah ... he's just a fame bleep. Wonder if he'll talk about the cartoon?

Did anyone else hear the call to Nick Abbot, about 00:50 this morning (last night)? A woman was talking about restaurants closing down. She said that people couldn't afford to go there anymore. Nick said restaurateurs say that they can't get the staff. After she continued with her point, he told her to "shut up", cut her off, and said "go away".

Personally, I think he could have told her more politely that (in his opinion) that she was completely wrong, and then cut her off. I really didn't think shouting "shut up" was very nice.

Yes I heard that very call and thought exactly the same as you. Typical NA though, anyone who doesn't think along the same lines as him re Brexit he can be quite nasty.

When I heard the preview of his serious show for Sunday on that very subject as in why businesses are closing because of Brexit and should we be rejoining, I listened to about 10 minutes and switched off. I don't know who his first guest caller was but as soon as they mentioned the vaccine roll out programme he went off on one. He will not accept that the pandemic and Ukraine war have affected so much in this Country but in Nick's head it is all because of Brexit.

As an aside, I was in a beautiful Perthshire (Scotland) town this weekend and there were plenty of European workers in the shops, bars and restaurants.

I confess I don't listen to NA, but I do question why someone who gets angry and unpleasant with callers is working in a medium like broadcast radio. Do you think it could just be an act? Or maybe he is somehow unhappy in his own life and he's just projecting? I don't really understand why anyone would get truly upset about things like Brexit, it's weird. Partly because it's already happened. 🤪

Maybe he's allowed to get away with this behaviour because it's nightime radio? No excuses for him really. He wouldn't get a job at the BBC! :)

I think there will be plenty of debates about the Monarchy this week. I'm calling it Rexit.

Wonder how James will tackle it...

I heard it too but to be honest she was being ridiculous. He definitely had a touch of the James Whales' with that call. I've never heard him be so abrupt before though there was a guy the previous night who nearly got the same treatment. He was trying to tell Nick there was no climate change because he had done part of a degree and it was nice in his part of chelmsford. 🤪

I was also blown away that the 'Be Polite' soundbite wasn't Donald Trump but from the film Blue Velvet. I'd have bet the house it was a Donald Trump one.

Fair enough. But there are ways of getting rid of ridculous calls without shouting "shut up" to her. She will almost certainly never listen to his programme again. She may even be put off ringing (any presenter) again. She may even be put off listening to LBC.
I'm not a fan of Nick Abbot, but a lot of his radio act is humour/parody. I didn't hear the call, but it's possible he was being playful rather than seriously telling a caller to shut up.

More Bank Holidays than you can shake a stick at, enjoy today folks.

There are too many bank holidays for my liking Steve. 😶

I've turned into one of those people that thinks the coronation should have been delayed until September - after the summer and when a fun event maybe more appreciated as the nights draw in. But economically it's a good idea now as an advert for the UK and to get those bookings for tourists for the rest of the year.

A caller to Nick Abbot on Friday brought up the JRM v Marina Purkiss interview. The caller was saying that Marina Purkiss was all over JRM but to my surprise Nick disagreed with them and thought that JRM came out of it better.
Wow, that's most interesting. I wonder if Nick A has a personal reason to dislike her?

I really wouldn't have thought he'd back JRM, despite it being true - although it's a very low bar.

I don't think it's anthything to do with disliking her. He did say he follows her on Twitter but he thought on this particular occasion, JRM came out on top. He also said something about killing her with kindness so perhaps he picked up on the same things as us as she became a bit bratty and JRM kept his cool.

Maybe not all is lost on Knickers. He did talk a lot of sense pre-brexit.
