The odious Rees-Mogg resigns before Sunak turfed him out on his galoshes.

Best news I've had all day.

I was listening to JOB today and I genuinely can't see why people have such an issue with Rishi's wealth. He wasn't born uber wealthy and I think the last PM who had any kind of 'normal' background was John Major. Very few politicians actually know what it's like to really struggle. Even James had to concede that Rishi made a good speech.

He made a snide remark to Theo too about some of his commentary. I still can't work out if Theo actually likes James or just tolerates him.

Looking like a very male orientated Cabinet so far.
At least there's a level-headed grown up in No.10 now, there certainly won't be an election any time soon, so hopefully Sunak will stabilise things.
Christ, it looks like Braverman is getting a job
O'brien tries to make out him & Theo have a bromance going but more often than not he is pretty condescending to him.

Sunak's wealth is such that he doesn't need to work another day in his life. There's no question of him being in it for himself or any mates. He must have a real sense of duty to want to lead the country. Those who try to criticise him for his wealth demean only themselves. No surprise that meatheads like Richard Burgon or mini me Corbynistas like Zarah Sultana never pass on the chance to join in.

Caller to Ian Payne wants migrants sent to the Falkland Islands

I mean, where would you begin with a call like that. You only have to hope it was just someone on a wind-up, then it would be quite amusing.

Sue Ellen getting her post back might well send Shelagh over the edge today ... like coming out of the showing and realising her resignation last week was all just dream! :ROFLMAO:

James seems to be having some sort of melt down and is trying to give himself therapy.

As a Bercow supporter the lack of self-awareness was off the scale as he criticised others for supporting bullies.

Richard Littlejohn hates every Labour MP and is a misogynist ... thank God we have James, a defender of all Tory women everywhere.

JOB's show is such a strange format. It's basically a drop-in therapy session for himself where he talks about something for twenty minutes and then has callers ring in telling him back what he's just said and then they both agree they are right. It's remarkable.

He loves playing to his echo chamber on twitter as well.

Sangita Myska keeps popping up on my timeline. Another anti Tory blowhard though it all feels a bit forced with her.

I noticed Steve said something about Kerry K 'getting her tits out' today. I take it that's not a banned word.

I think he's said it a couple times before. Some of my favourite moments of Steve are when he was speaking about babestation. Explaining what the woman was saying or doing, then making the little groan noises like they do lol. His producers must have been laughing their heads off.

Tonight at midnight, the latest RAJAR results will be released, covering the period of 27th June 2022 – 18th September 2022. The questions we will want to know is if LBC's audience has continued to grow (if it has it will be mentioned on their news bulletins tomorrow morning!). We will also want to know if Nick Ferrari commands his lead over James O'Brien.

Unfortunately because this period covers both the time when Eddie Mair was on air, and after his left, the figures for the Drivetime show will not be truly reflective. We will have to wait until next February to compare the audiences, and even then it will be Tom Swarbrick settling into the programme!

Oh dear, the results are not looking good for LBC.

(all figures in 000s)

LBC Brand (all listeners to LBC and LBC News) June 2022 3295 October 2022 2299
LBC UK 2609, 2453
LBC London 1425, 1357
LBC News UK 1017, 863
LBC News London 443, 438

No doubt Global will be able to put a spin on those figures to their advantage !

I hope to have a bit more news later today !

The only mention of LBCSo, despite listening to radio as a whole being up, LBC, TalkRADIO, Times Radio, Radio 4 and BBC Five Live have all seen a decline this book.

*************************
I can't seem to do proper editing !

The only mention of LBC is from Matt Deegan, a media commentator, who said (above!) " So, despite listening to radio as a whole being up, LBC, TalkRADIO, Times Radio, Radio 4 and BBC Five Live have all seen a decline this book. "

Nothing about LBC on the Global site, as far as I can see.

Now, what has happened to the editing function here ?

No mention of their listening figures on the early news, which is not a good sign.
