I'm quite upset with this development tbh. I did think he was a good guy. All this good will shown by people and yet again, it's been abused. It was the same with Capt Tom's daughter.

Someone bullshitting about their life on social media? I can hardly believe it. When I think of what large corporations and banks (and politicians) get away with every minute of every day (think the Post Office Scandal) I wish as much coverage was dedicated to their tit.

There are kids on Youtube who get 1.2 million followers unboxing stuff. I don't even know the point of having these figures revealed unless you're planning to advertise with LBC. Honestly, who gives a tit?
Not me that’s for sure. But it certainly rattles the cages of the haters 😉.
Seriously guys, if you don’t like him, don’t listen to him (unless you have a masochistic streak?)

Nick? Or James? I don't listen to either any more. In fact, I probably listen to about 15 minutes of LBC per week. I get more enjoyment and entertainment through osmosis via this thread! :ROFLMAO: I guess I'am a bit of a sociopath insofar as when something starts to become popular I tend to lose interest ... if what you're saying is right and LBC listeners are rising it kind of makes sense that I am listening less!

Do you think that listening figures could be affected by a larger presence on Social Media? I keep seeing LBC pop-up on my Youtube more and more. Are they getting more listeners from outside the UK? I mean, there's a lot of wriggle-room when it comes to presenting statistics. I'm rambling ...

On Question Time tonight, Fiona will be joined by Meghan Gallacher, Anas Sarwar, Stephen Flynn, Alex Salmond and Iain Dale. Join us and an audience from Aberdeen on @BBCiPlayer from 8pm or on @BBCOne after the 10 o'clock news

Well done to Iain Dale who does a lot for the out reach of LBC with his interviews and media work. Obviously the number one is Nick Ferrari but Iain does well.

Shelagh merits a mention and is probably the number three in this regard.

I agree, I used to listen to JOB for entertainment value due to the size and delicacy of his ego and how he could twist the news to make it suit his agenda at the same time as ignoring the news that didn’t suit him. However there’s something about his tone and strident voice which just makes me turn off as soon as I hear him now.

For me it just seems whenever I tune in he starts talking about himself and frankly, he's not very interesting, personable or relatable. I think I heard something about his lawn-mower not working this week. Another 2 minutes of my listening time I'll never get back.

Was just about to switch over at 10 when O'Brien announced the first hour was to be about Ukraine. The default position of O'Brien and the left is to run our country down and diminish any of its achievements. Naturally he criticised us for apparently letting Ukraine down and of course he shoehorned in a reference to Brexit. It took somebody who knows what they are talking about, Tim Marshall, to tell the truth that we're still the leading helpers in Europe.

In other news Times Radio have had a reshuffle and there's a vacancy to present 4pm to 7pm weekends

Caught some of Matt Frei's show, very good, he's an interesting listen coupled with reports from Hamish the military guy, and then the USA & Simon Marks.
Similar to Skeletor Calder, Simon Marks has a great gig, he appears on many news outlets with his concise, nasally-delivered bulletins.

Matt is ok, but he's prone to becoming hysterical on occasion. Actually, compared with most LBC presenters he's very good. I just wish I could have been there when he threw all of his toys out of his BBC Pram and flounced off to the commercial media sector. Seems like LBC is a good hoover for those types...

Can’t agree. I think Frei is terrible. His interactions with callers are so awkward, especially when he’s running into a break. No idea how to elegantly draw it to a close. Unlistenable.

Well, like most hosts, Matt finds 'callers' a bit of a problem. Interacting with people outside of the metropolitan media elite (I hate that term, but you know what I mean) is a big downside of the job. Most hosts are ego-maniacs who just want to listen to the sound of their own voices or talk with other people they deem 'on their level', be it of perceived intelligence, schooling, or bank account. I don't think Matt is a natural radio host, but I wouldn't really hold that against him.

He knows his stuff on certain subjects and he's walked-the-walk in the broadcast media world. Compred to someone like O'Brien he's respected by his peers. Well, James is probably respected too, but only due to longevity ... a bit like an incurable auto-immune disease.

The LBC facebook page seems to have stopped putting Jimbo on it. Perhaps he has become too much even for them......

Really? I don't think he's 'too much', just very, very bleeping stale. And that rot will continue after Labour get in. Personally, I think James is a good broadcaster but I wish he'd just leave LBC and start a podcast or Youtube channel or something. I'd like Ali Mirage to do the 10-1 slot. Ok, he's right-leaning, but he's reasonable and if you don't like him you can always check out James' podcast or Youtube channel (if he were to start one). I just think someone who is less Jeremy Kyle could get more listeners and callers.

My challege to James would be: Put your money where your mouth is: Leave LBC and broadcast on a rival channel between 10 and 1, see how you get on without the 'Ferrari Bounce' and Labour in power.
