Annie is probably too busy to even give Lauren a second thought. She is looking after 4 children (no nanny) full time and my guess with 4 children come a lot of out of school clubs. I have 2 children and have 1 day out of the 7 without some kind of sport club!
Out of sight out of mind, I would rather not know what she’s saying so block out the noise (but my guess is that Annie actually does this)
