Laurita Blewitt All things THL

I mean she is in her late 30s, not a looker herself so what's the big deal about their engagement?

Ouch - that's a bit uncalled for?

I think, in my case at least anyway, it's just a total surprise. I've listened to a fair few episodes of the podcast and I dont think he's ever been brought up, or that L was in a relationship. Just going by the tales of "step into my office" I'd assumed she was still single.

But the vibe I am getting is the shock that Joe Brolly is not attractive, a bit irritating and kinda old. But pushing 40 is no spring chicken (I am no spring chicken so not being ageist) and looks wise they are on par. She is also a bit irritating so 🤷‍♀️

Both GAA mad too so a perfect match imo.

Guys did I read that correctly, did they really have their reception in Knockmore GAA club??!!!
I thought the same thing … maybe a session the next day after the Hotel Reception? Jaysus she really is one dimensional if so. I still do wonder why they brought her on board to be honest as they both each have high profiles. I enjoyed her at the start, but her stories of herself out on the beer with the friend started to grate a bit. I pictured her as one of these jersey girl types hanging out of GAA lads on a night out being pests generally trying to piss off the WAGS … oh well… she’s bagged herself one now, albeit a vintage version.

Her discussion on childbirth in the first of the returned Christmas episodes is awful. Why is she given such a platform to pontificate her negative experience? She has nothing nice, sweet or motherly to say about her baby. There is no need for another woman telling the world how woeful her childbirth experience was. Some positivity and love would’ve been nice. I’ll listen to the rest of the episode and the second episode but after this I’m done with this podcast.

If it wasn't positive, why pretend? Not everything is sunshine and roses and birth isn't a magical wonderful experience for a lot of people so in that regard, I dont have a problem with it. They were all obviously in agreement to talk about it and discuss it prior to recording.

I *did* however turn off the second podcast yesterday evening when they just kept going on and on and on about haemorrhoids. I didn't find that amusing tbh.

I so agree with this one hundred percent, why would you describe it as a good experience when it wasn't? Why would anyone want someone to pretend they felt a certain way just because its more acceptable or palatable for others.
My best friend hated being pregnant and really hated the whole birthing process and she has 3 healthy happy gorgeous kids that are none the worse for her not loving the birth. She's also honest when asked if she liked being pregnant etc and people's reactions are hilarious when they don't get an answer they want to hear 🤣
Laurita was honest and that's so refreshing, it made me realise how much I miss the pod actually.
