I was taught how to use full stops at the end of a sentence (however simple) during Reception class-some of the clever kids already knew about full stops from Nursery. However, I make up for my lack of full stops by adding a few at the end of some sentences, just in case...
And, as an avid reader, I was introduced to commas to separate subordinate clauses and items in a list when I was about 6. Funnily enough though, there weren't any in the picture books I read until I was 34. Some people call them mail order clothes catalogues: I call them 1200 page books.
In Year 1 (age 5), I didn't bother listening when the teacher began teaching the correct use of was and were. How were/was?? that going to help with my future life as a Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa++++++ list Zelebetty?
Then the use of apostrophes for contraction started in Year 2 and were consolidated throughout Y3, so I would know how to use 's when babbling about LaNowNotRoastieNowColdie.
In Y4 I remember my teacher talking about summat called proverbs, adages or sayings. I thought a proverb was a kind of dirty slut type adverb. So, I tried to use a proverb/adage when referring to 'C U next Tuesday' type of girls; however, no one has ever heard of this word usage. Maybe I can copyright it and claim it to be mine and make even more millions?
As I don't take LaColdtoes out anywhere, I am unaware that Christmas decorations have been in shops since late September. But then again, 'time' (taught in great detail in Y3), isn't a good subject of mine either, as LaColdtoes was born Julember.
