Last film you watched?

Ordinary People - Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville.
I like Lesley Manville but I’ve only ever seen her in comedy roles so it made a change.
It was about breast cancer so not a light hearted watch. It was ok.

I watched a film called The Hunt yesterday. I actually said “what the duck was that all about?” to myself once it ended. It was entertaining enough though.

"Courage Under Fire" - Denzel Washington.

Could have been a great/intriguing drama, but it all went pear-shaped into a predictable last 15 minutes of utter tosh

"Desert Hearts" - a firm feel-good favourite of mine.

A romantic lesbian drama set in the late 50s in Nevada, concerning a female university tutor going through a bad divorce and finding true love with a younger more extrovert woman

A film called Snorkel - a black and white thriller from the 1950's
A writer who has grown unhappy in his marriage, executes what appears to be a perfect murder of his wife. His stepdaughter is sure that he murdered her mother, and suspects he also murdered her father years before. With the police unwilling to investigate any further, Candy sets out to confirm her suspicions and take Paul down herself.

Have been watching the TV programme "The Crown" which reminded me of the film "The King's Speech" concerning King George VI ascension of King of the British Empire, but suffering from insecurity through a speech impediment.

Very good, if a little on the long side

Going through all the Brit films on YouTube at the mo, watched and enjoyed Anita and Me as half of it went over my head the first time. Apparently both the main girls did well for themselves careerwise!

I just finished a rewatch of The Prestige. I absolutely love it. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are both excellent in it.
