Dont want to turn political but comments like this irk me. They did more for Palestine and for a united Ireland by going than refusing to go. They had access to politicians in Congress and the Senate and the staff in the White House, as well as Irish America which is important here. Those that argued for refusing to go are allowing emotions not reason to dictate actions. And of course there are the leftists who haven't got an invite who tried to use it to attack SF politically by suggesting they are politically purer than them. They are "really" radical - in their own heads!!!! SF, South Africa and indeed the Palestinians all live in the real world. Nobody suggested we should boycott talking to the Brits, the DUP, or the Free staters. Any decent Irish dancer wouldn't have their arms swinging all over the place like that. Arms need to be dead straight.
I always remember my mam telling me that her Irish Dancing teacher used to sellotape a broom handle down her back to make her stand straight
