Thanks to the tattler who recommended watching vegan beauty girl's holland and barrat advent calendar unboxing. It was so informative and refreshing. Actually laughable how bad Katie's is in comparrison!
She's great, isn't she? I love her vegan What I Eat in a Day vlogs too, I am vegetarian so it's nice inspiration and she keeps a good balance of going out and cooking at home! Not everything is super healthy but also she does acknowledge when she is eating junk/going out loads.

Drinking game of the week, drink every time Kathleen says 'penis/vulva owner' in her Love Honey advent calendar vid.... 🙄 I appreciate she's trying to be inclusive but there's got to be better terminology than that surely??
Feels a bit forced, no?

I didn't watch Katie's until this morning but it's like night and day.

Nicole talks about value for money, cost, knows the brands/ products, talks about gifting products she won't use and not wasting them.

Katie just reads bits off the packaging. It feels like nothing is planned any more and she just randomly comes out with stuff that makes no sense;

"This contains brands that are trying to be more sustainable and really good for your skin, I just think is a really great thing. This is the first I've seen of this kind of beauty adcent calendar"

"Compostable, recyclable, biodegradable.... all makeup brushes should be like that" why don't you buy/ support the ones that are then!?

"We have a Holland and Barrett face wash with aloe vera and cucumber extract, 100% vegan, against animal cruelty, der-ma-to-logica-lly tested" that's it, that's all she has to say on that one.

That coat is a big fat no from me

Personally I think the coat is fine but for me it’s the lame attempt to justify why she needs yet another piece of fast fashion.

Is the bridesmaid dress thing normal? Genuine question. Like is it okay to order a load of high street dresses knowing you’re going to return them? I guess she did it with the ASOS bridal dresses too which really didn’t sit right with me but maybe that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♀️ she knew she wasn’t going to keep any of them. I find it weird because she could just order loads of clothes from random places to use as content but not actually keep them.

That’s what so many influencers do, order hundreds of pounds of clothes, film a haul and take pictures of them wearing the clothes then send them back. Oh and add an affiliate link to the clothes so they make money off their followers buying the clothes they promote but don’t even keep. It’s gross.

NGL it was nice to see Katie actually having fun with her friends on the weekend for a change
The ASOS thing does seem a little odd though, whether or not she’s returning them that must have cost a fortune initially 😳 surely just going to a shop so everyone can try on the style they like would be simpler?

Also I know I’m late to the party but that post Katie liked about Tattle 🙄 give me strength.
The more influence someone has the more open to criticism they should be, if your ‘job’ is to tell people what to buy/eat/wear/whatever then be open to people questioning your choices or pointing out when you’re giving wrong info for god sake.

I hate doing that even when just shopping for a few bits for myself, I hate having my money "frozen" somewhere before they actually accept the return and send a refund

Katie: I don’t need two of the same coat!

Also Katie: I need 37 blazers.

I don’t know why I ever expect it from them but it always astounds me how most influencers hardly use their platforms for good causes.

Kath does endless stories showing what she’s been gifted, the huge haul she’s just bought, the fancy PR event or lavish meal she’s been to but very rarely promotes a good cause or charity.

There’s a local charity drive in my area where the pubs are taking in peoples unwanted coats to give to the homeless which is great and seeing Kathleen buy yet ANOTHER jacket has just turned my stomach. I know she very well could do charitable things in private but there’s no reason why she couldn’t promote these kind of things alongside her normal content. I just feel particularly fed up of influencers at the moment- showing off their wealth and greed whilst there are people in poverty/ homeless on the streets in this freezing weather while influencers just get greedier. Katie literally bins bags and bags of old unwanted gifted products when there are women living in refuges with nothing who would love something as simple as a nice bottle of shampoo.

I’m probably not articulating myself properly but I hope it makes sense. It just baffles me that we live in a world where this is normal. 🤯

unfortunately I think if she did do things for charity she’d make a point to boast about it in her Instagram 😕

She used to film herself putting food in the food bank box in the supermarket but now that they eat out all the time and order ready meals the rest of the time, I wonder if she keeps doing donating to the food banks

Yeah she did this when her and G did their lockdown shopping in Waitrose… together… rather than 1 person per household 🙃
Great to give to food banks though, not knocking it.
