Yeah weddings are super expensive. I got married in 2017 and had 80 guests and it came to just under £20k. That is with me DIYing lots too. Did my own table plan display, centerpieces, flowers and used vista print for my invitations. We both have a big family so it quickly adds up. I'm a bargain hunter so never expected to spend so much. It is so easy to do!

I'm sure Katie has found a house and that is why she is talking about expense. Wedding and a house. That's why she is decluttering so much.

Someone probably already said this. Can't remember if they have.

She mentioned the other day that the house hunting was slow and stressful, so maybe!
 
Possibly an unpopular opinion but i don't know why anyone would have a big wedding that costs thousands unless they can truly afford it. I don't understand paying so much to feed and accommodate extended family and friends that you don't see from one month to the next. Would much rather a cheaper wedding day and enjoy a luxe once-in-a-lifetime holiday with my new husband.

I hope I don't offend anyone each to their own and all that, it's just from personal experience as a lot of my pal's showy weddings sadly haven't lasted and left them with ridiculous debts.

I wish I had eloped! I only like about 5 people that we invited 😂😂
 
I wish our guest list could have been smaller and saved some money! My husband has a huge family that he's really close to and I have a lot of very close friends, we didn't even invite any cousins and half of my family who live abroad didn't come and we still had over 100 people.

I did find her comment on 'just' having one dress to save money quite funny though. I know some people do change for the evening but surely one dress is the norm? It's a wedding not an Instagram reel.

I would love that, but me and my husband hold different passports, so travelling abroad is always tricky. I need a visa for most countries, and for the ones where I don’t need one my husband needs one!
That’s why we didn’t even plan our honeymoon after our wedding in 2019, we decided to do it once I get a UK citizenship, although by that time probably everywhere will require you to have a visa as well 😂

I’m fairly certain of the area they’re looking in (caught a glimpse of a local estate agent sign in a vlog) and houses go very quickly around there. I’m guessing there aren’t enough houses that tick their boxes and the ones that do are snapped up by someone else.
 
She Is probably hinting for lots of freebies and sponsorships for her wedding from halfpenny (I think, the wedding dresses) A free hairstyle from samantha Whateverhernameis, free jewellery off missoma, a free dior makeup artist, a free first class honeymoon to Dubai or the Maldives, free catering, free wedding videography etc. I don't follow them but did see some pics on insta of lydia million and inthefrows wedding and agree that she probably wants a showy wedding like these. Those weddings looked like hell on earth for most of the guests tbh, a quick ceremony and an at home buffet party if weather allows sounds much nicer, chilled, relaxed rather than a
showy affair. No need to drop thousands on food and a cake, wedding food rarely lives upto it's promises. again she'll be angling for a freebie!

No offense to anyone who feels differently, or had a inthefrow style wedding, it's your day and do Whatever it is you both want and can afford. Just musing these thoughts as Katie Is banging on about being a sensible savingm machine.

Back to Katy, she already lost thousands with Andrew cancelling their wedding,I she could just wear that dress if she was really watching the pennies!

Totally agree! All this 'We're not having X,Y, Z because of our budget' is such a blatant beg for freebies. Genuinely intrigued to see how much (if anything) she is gifted as I really don't know if she is influential enough.

I wonder if everyone's favourite Consultant Radiologist Feline, Dr More-eece will attend in a little bowtie. Imagine the giggles!
 
So Katie's top tips on saving money are, Firstly don't spend your wages, pop them instead in a high interest savings account then (and this is important) get sent everything for free, even booze, then depop or Ebay most of that, pocket that profit too, and when forced to spend money on pesky things like food, rent and heating buy economy.

Wait, wasn't she encouraging us to spend hundreds of pounds on bj courses, 'luxury' sex toys from Karen Millen and designer handbags that needed replacing after visiting charity shops??
 
I love to cycle that route they walked. I'd normally end up in the trafalgar tavern at the end so I relate to her pub comment :oops:

What breed of cat is Moorice? I swear someone said Ragamuffin but googling, all of the pictures of them look much prettier than the Dr. He's starting to look like that meme of the evil cat being carried away from a house.
