Kat says they were pre loved/ second hand. There is no waiting list anymore. You put your name down for your ‘wish’ and basically spend as much as possible to get the opportunity to buy one.
They expect you to spend around £30k in order to be given the opportunity to drop at least £8k on a bag.
Hermes were recently sued by Sketchers for copyright infringement of their trainers. So that tells you a lot. The bags make them money. They use the bags to shift the less desirable items. If you are happy to play the game you get one of the bags.
Back to Kat, the pre loved market is full of fakes. So who knows?

DHGate bags for sure. They even come with authenticity cards and dust bags, for a couple of hundred quid and they’re impossible to tell apart from the real thing unless you’re an expert

Buying in Hermes is the strangest experience, a lot of it is down to the sales assistant liking you, what else you spend and I'm guessing they're sales targets based on my experience. I didn't buy a birkin though!

Saatchi is a real oddball. Someone I used to work with did work at his house in the days before he started going out with Nigella (ie when her late husband was still alive). There was apparently a wall in Saatchi's house covered in photos of Nigella. Creepy.
