I don't know I'm not on benefits, but I know if you are allowed to just have thousands of pounds and not declare it to them.

Anything over 16k stops your benefits. You don't have to declare anything under 6k.
If you have just wasted your money on purpose to get benefits this is called deprivation of capital and she will get her money stopped. She won't have reported it

With universal credits You get 6 months where your capital from a house sale is disregarded if you’re looking at investing it into a property (this can be extended if you’re showing active steps of buying but completion hasn’t happened in 6 months). This means she can keep claiming uc while this process is happening and your capital isn’t taken into account. Doesn’t mean she can piss it down the drain though as it’s classed as deprivation of capital.

Well Nath just confirmed she was about to go into the £120k bracket when he left her 2 days ago. So that's £16k down, plus £3k just on gifts yesterday. She's blown through about £20k in a week and has nothing to show for it!
