Junior Andre - Jesy Nelson 2.0? The fake accent has got to go!

Why would people be offended if a white guy likes and performs "black" music. If anything it's a sign he likes the culture.
I think it’s because he’s performing about a certain culture when he was raised in privilege

Do you know who his parents are ?

His grandparents are Greek Cypriot therefore he is of mixed heritage
You don't need to be black to have a mixed heritage, he obviously identifies with his culturally diverse background as do many artists and young people.

mixed-heritage. adjective. uk/ˌmɪkstˈher.ɪ.tɪdʒ/ us/ˌmɪkstˈher.ɪ.t̬ɪdʒ/ having parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents of different races, cultures, or ethnicities

You implied you thought Junior was part black with your comments about Jesy Nelson. That’s why people are questioning your idea of mixed heritage.

Is Everyone so Out of touch just because he has grown up in and around Sussex and Surrey means he must speak with that accent Have no outside influences if you've been around anyone under 20 in the south of England that's how a lot of young people speak.
Jealousy and Bitterness for a 17 year old Talented kid who people have a Opinion about and has done nothing to deserve it
Jesy Nelson Comparison says it all Junior is a Different Genre, actual Talent and not some xfactor wannabe
He's Being produced and managed by some of the best in the business and the talk about his accent shows Just how Out of Touch people are
He’s not talented he has rich (well one now anyway) and well connected parents. Would he have been scouted if he was a normal kid. Absolutely not.

He's only ever going to be popular with kids who think he's Peng or Leng, whichever adjective is in use nowadays. He's never going to be a serious grime artist.

If they've got money on their apple accounts it's going to be a tough choice, purchase stuff on Roblox or download Junior's single.

Ok so many racist comments.
He thinks he is black/a gangster… erm black people aren't gangsters. Black people aren't all one group who talk like dat init bruv.

Hate to break it to you, but this accent has replaced cockney for younger people in London, and just like estuary/cockney english that spread out from London all over England and the South, this accent, which is actually called “Multicultural London” accent has also spread all over.
Its happened faster due to social media and the popularity of grime etc.

I would hear white rich public school kids in London 20 years ago saying init, peng, fam etc albeit in a posh voice.
Its not new. Get over it.

Kids always want to be different to their parents and rebel from what is expected from them.

My linguistic sociological rant has ended.
