I think Indie could be quite disruptive when she goes back into school as well - kids thrive with structure, routine and familiarity and I think she would struggle going back to an environment where she isn’t the sole focus of attention. Kids learn so quickly at school and if she’s not educated properly in that year of holidays will mean she’s behind her peers no matter how bright Joe thinks she is.

I think Joe's approach to fitness is stuck in the early 2010s. Modern PTs are more understanding of the complicated social/ mental factors that we all have to deal with nowaday and incorporate that into their advice. Saying get more sleep is on the same level as Saying eat less and move more. Great advice Joe thanks 👍

Completely agree, my current PT asks what goals you've set yourself for the week, if there's anything that could throw you off course and asks how he could help with that. Also asks about stresses, how much sleep you've had etc. Also encourages walking a lot, whether you're starting out, can't fit in a workout. Really understands how life just gets in the way!

Also love Ben Carpenter, think someone mentioned him in a previous thread and followed him from that, what a man! The kind of PT that has your back no matter what and just gets it.

Bet they haven't even asked Indie how she feels about it. What's the betting he's got another expenses paid trip to do a few workouts at some 5* holiday destinations so their sacrificing the kids home life stability for that. I went to 3 diff primary schools, and 2 secondary due to various moves growing up. Hated always being the new girl and having to settle in again. When it came to mine it would have to be something extreme for me to make them have to keep changing.
People who homeschool usually have a network of other homeschoolers so the children still able to socialise with their peer group but it's obvious Joe think a few work books will do the job.
I would also say that Indie might be bright and ahead now but they change so fast in those early years. My eldest was behind for reading and maths in reception/Y1 and had extra sessions. Then something clicked and he not only caught up but surged ahead in maths as he clearly just took longer to develop. But Joe and Dosie won't have the experience a teacher has to see what Indie needs to develop and if she's at the right level.

I’m a similar age to Joe and my children are similar ages to his. The way they learn in KS1 is completely different to how we did. The structure, how they are taught and everything is so different. They learn joined-up writing from the offset. 7 year olds are spelling words I didn’t learn to spell until secondary!

I’m educated to a postgrad level and absolutely no way would I consider homeschooling, I am not up to it!

Typical Wicks god-complex thinking he is better than trained and experienced teachers.

Good to also remember that Joe was initially going to go into teaching but realised he didn’t have the patience for it 🙃
