Jay Slater #13

I do completely understand and agree however unless he dropped a pill directly before leaving the air b&b which would make him trip the timescales suggested would allow time for him to be coming down and there’s generally a complete misunderstanding of the effect of other party drugs and the level of inhibition they give. If Ayubs account is true and he went straight to bed - Jay was in there for around an hour with an hours car journey there…I don’t know but the theory he was off his head so wandered off is possible but in my opinion unlikely.

Even wrecked he’s been sober enough to report being injured on the phone so knows he’s been hurt. That to me shows some level of being lucid. To then CONTINUE getting hurt through that terrain? Seeing that video above I struggle to see how he could have made the decision to continue on such a dangerous path while already being aware he was injured.

He knew when he called Lucy cut up from a cactus and where the phone ping was (which is somewhere between 30-60 mins walk from where he was actually found) he was injured and if he turned round at that point and retraced his steps he’d be hopping straight on a bus instead of a supposed 9-10 hour walk. But he decided not to??

I do think it’s possible, I just think it’s unlikely.

Edit to clarify - what I’m saying is I don’t think it’s likely he’s done it SOLELY because he was under the influence. I believe other factors have contributed to his decision making.

Yes - exactly what I've been thinking. A lot of people have been saying "well he was off his nut" or "he was high and didn't know what he was doing". That isn't how drugs work. If he was really fucked up at the time there would be no way he would be snap chatting coherently and writing texts or even manage to get as far as he did when his phone pinged.

Drugs also don't make you think a 10 hour walk is preferable to waiting 2 hours for a bus.

Come downs make you feel like tit but they don't have you tweaking out like some meth head. If he was worried I doubt it was drug induced paranoia.

Definitely depends on what drugs he’s consumed and when. Coke for instance has a sobering effect which a lot of people who haven’t used it don’t understand! Yes you aren’t sober but it’s a stimulant as opposed to the effects of alcohol so can make someone much more alert even after drinking. You’re more likely to make that stupid decision from alcohol alone imo.

Theres simply not enough info in the public domain to come to the conclusion he was off his nut so fell off a massive cliff but it’s a convenient hypothesis to try and stop any further investigation.

If he had been taken there by a third party and left there or subjected to a beating or something, wouldn't he have mentioned this to Lucy during the phone call?

Yes however I assume Lucy isn't being entirely truthful about what was really said. We already know she lied and said he called her when really she called him. Maybe this is why his mum thought he had been taken or got into trouble. Lucy told his nearest and dearest but not the police and media. He could have also still told Lucy he was lost without mentioning being taken there if he were embarrassed at what had happened.
Didn't Lucy delete her call logs? Can't trust a word of what she said about that phone call.
For all we know there was no phone call between Jay and Lucy.

Couldn’t comment on last thread as it was closed but her saying the search team costing £52k, I’m sure that’s what the GFM was at when he was found or there about!….convenient!
they’re a charity organisation but they’d have had to maybe pay flights and accommodation for them. I’d say £5k max
The £52k quoted was from a fake Deb profile, it was a scammer who asked for money from anyone who reacted to their comments.

(I'll copy&paste this for repeated future use! 🤓)

Tum tee tum, what new faecal matter will be revealed today, Deb needs to bring out a board game call it Lost and incorporate every level of fuckwittery in the challenges, we know that she will write a book. But that will all be in the future, because these Chavalots are hour by hour, day by day lunatic producers of chaos. And just for clarity, I was brought up on a council estate and can categorically state that my parents are not Chavalots. They were strict yet fair with myself and all of my siblings, we knew that anything that we did that was mildly naughty when out playing we would then have to face the consequences of DAD! We didn’t dare.

According to the Daily Express documents were found with Jay proving the body was his. That's odd considering he had managed to lose his hotel room keys. Was he carrying everything (like his passport) in that backpack 🫠
According to Manchester Evening News his passport etc was at the apartment he was staying in. Unless it was his driving licence as I take mine out but leave my passport in the safe when I'm on holiday.

I still think foul play was involved, either someone taking him there or him frantically running from whoever was (or he thought was) chasing him. Noone in their right mind would tackle terrain like that and risk near certain death, unless absolute certain death was the alternative. I think all his friends aren't telling the truth about what happened at all, for fear for themselves to be honest. It's like the text Debbie was sent about someone having him was it? Has that just been disregarded as her making it up? So much doesn't make sense and I think the Spanish police know a hell of alot more than they admit, but I think it's unlikely we'll ever know the truth now. They are keeping quiet for a reason.

I wasn’t dismissing the other unexplained issues. Just adding what I also thought might be in the mix.
perhaps there was an element of running away from whatever went off in the Airbnb.
who knows.

I wonder what our good mate Rach will think of this stunt from someone in Jay's home town. Maybe she will want to sue them for being insensitive.

My favourite part of this story is where the lad originally planned to be thrown out of a helicopter. He decided instead to spend his £600 savings on a suit instead.

I'm starting to think maybe Jay did just decide to go for an innocent little hike..

Blimey, that footage is scary. No wonder they took so long to find him.

From what I understand he fell from the top?

It will be very telling if his body had the watch with it or not.

Also how do bottles of water stop dogs peeing on your doorstep?
People are saying he fell from they were standing on in the footage, the dog was looking over it and down. Like I said anyone would know it was the wrong way and impossible to pass and just stop and wait for rescue. There is a reason he just left like that to walk so far and tried to go down there and it wasn't for scran. Sensible people would wait till morning and a bus.
