New thread to discuss Jay Slater, the teen who went missing in Tenerife and has now been found deceased.

His GFM originally started to help bring him home currently stands at £71,910. Stories are conflicting whether it has been used and what it’s being used for.

I'm just wondering if they are asking for money for another reason. This is obviously far fetched but I'm going to say it anyway. Could they be asking for money for a private prosecution? Apparently there will be more information released next week. Are we going to find out that Jay didn't fall...

71k 🤦🏼‍♂️ I wholeheartedly agree with whoever said that they need closing once the desired goal is reached, but greed takes over and that won't happen :(
 
Imagine you've lived every day of your life on minimum wage but being topped up with tax credits... then your kid turns 18 and you're no longer entitled so your wage is is reduced. Then your kid dies and you've literally got thousands of pounds dribbling into your account every day... I'm sure she would prefer her kid back but thats never gonna happen so she's gonna milk it for all she can. Imagine he just has a budget funeral and this money is just for her to live on.

What upsets me about the GFM is my sons friend is desperately trying to raise funds for life saving treatment abroad. He needs 30k. He managed the first 15 in a couple of weeks but since just dribs and drabs every now and again. I understand it's not high profile like 'Beggy's' but wish people would show the same compassion to causes like his which could really help. Some people are just foolish with their money

Because I am late and can't be bothered reading all the threads but has it been confirmed if there will be an autopsy once Jay gets back to the UK or are they accepting it was an accident?

Sorrys about your sons friend. Ther was an autopsy in Spain but I do wonder if there will be one in the UK at Debbies request. It seems she doesn't trust Spanish police hence no thanks for them.

£10,000 for flights/accommodation/printing posters/daily transport costs to Masca/payment to Tik Tokers and detectives?

£20,000 for payment to the Dutch team- They were on a break for the dogs to rest due to the heat...not their fault the Spanish team had employed stealthy search team...who already said they weren't searching anymore anyway!

£20,000 for repatriation plus funeral.

£10,000. (Maybe a bit more if Matthew sends another strongly worded message) Donated to LBT Global. The more the GFM generates...the more Debbie can donate to them?

Leaves around £12,000? I don't know what you'd do with that 😉

Yeah I was more shocked when I saw that footage. Anyone in their right mind would know that wouldn't be the way to go. I think if I was stuck lost like that I'd just stay put and wait for help. I'd probably just lay on the ground knowing friends would alert the autorities. I wouldn't dare carry on it's so rocky.

I had the same thought. Unless Jay did not want to be found/seen by someone and chose to hide? Add in the mention of knives taken from the AirBnB.

I reckon even if the autopsy find signs of foul play they still pass it off as an accident. I think the Spanish police are sick of Jay Slater and his family.
