I would say if you are worried and think somethings not right call them now as 111 is a nightmare to go through if he gets worse & A&E waiting times are long. Awww bless him..it's really horrible. If he gets some antibiotics once they get into him he should feel better. You probably know this but alternate between ibuprofen liquid and paracetamol. Also lots of ice lollies helped my little one. Hope he feels a bit better for Christmas. Let me know how you get on xx

Sorry off topic but the parents on here whose children had strep I need some advice please. I think my son has strep but his tongue looks different to the google pictures of strep. It’s not as red as the pictures but it’s white at the back and then at the front it has red dots spread all over it and the side of his tongue looks like a weird circle bruise/hole. Did your babies tongues look different to the pics on google? If so that’d be really helpful as just deciding whether to call drs now before they shut or wait until morning x
