Jack Monroe #9 - 200 curries in her repertoire, but they all look like vomit in a mason jar

The whole of it still screams mania to me. Moving everything into a garage and spending all day doing it to only move it to a shed a few weeks later? 3 hours sleep? None of this seems right. Also, no expert on sheds but doesn't look like those bookcases will last long in there. I've had an IKEA bookcase rot inside a damp property let alone a shed.
My husband says she is a loose cannon and after DK, no professional company will want to work with her now. Imagine this is why the home studio etc thing. But that isn't what we will hear.

I honestly think someone close to her needs to o sit her down and have a chat with her. She got an all or nothing personailty. She's needs to be sat down and talked to on a one to one basis and told that this is not healthy. She's hopping around like a electrified bunny, but it doesn't go anywhere or she's loses interest before it materialises. She needs someone to say look you need to calm down and take on project on and at time and see it through to the end. There ar billions of people out ther dying for their minutes of fame and not many actually make it as a famous chef,. Actor or actress. How many one hit wonders are there out there. She's doesn't need to give up on her dream but she does need to be realistic she's not television worthy in my eyes. So stick to writing cook books

She also mentioned having a garage. But they have no cars, so call me sceptical but I am leaning towards she owns the place. No one renting puts that
cost into creating whatever she is creating.
I really hate coming to her defense here, but I've rented long term and have made improvements, particularly to the garden of that property. I spent a lot of energy, time and money on it and it was worth it, because I did live in the place for a long time.

I also don't think there are nearly as many regulations as people on this thread suggest about what you can and cannot do as a freelancer in rented accommodation. Many YouTubers work out of rented homes and film them - as far as I know that's totally fine. You mostly only have to clear it with your landlord and insurance if you are using accommodation to host client meetings, etc. If you are just doing something on your own, you should be fine. It's also not a commercial kitchen in the sense that she's cooking food to sell, so I'm pretty sure hygiene and health and safety regulations don't apply to her.

Not saying she's not manic and that this is necessarily a great idea or that a can of spray paint will hold those wooden boards together.

Apologies, I really should have phrased it better. I do know some people who rent and have lived in their places for a long time. You have lived in your rented long term and lived there long term. JM seems to move year, something like 13 times in not so many years. Seems to me a big output of money if one isn't going to live there long term.

Bellybutton, I get it. Just felt the thread here in general (not you in particular at all) turned into everyone jumping down at her for something that is not really all that unusual. But yeah, she's still incredibly irritating and it's fair to say she doesn't seem to have much of a clue of what she's doing.

I've never rented a home other then a student house so I don't know all the rules but surely if her landlord saw her attempting to set up a fire hazard in his shed next to his property he would be concerned. I know I would be not only for the house but for the very fact that this person could potentially kill themselves and or their family. It's one thing leaving something potentially flammable in the shed and it catching fire and actually putting a naked flame in a room not suitable for purpose.

No it isn't unusual at all, again apologies if I came across as crass. But the way she is doing it is highly unusual.

Gawd she tweeted about getting out of bed to look up making bang bang noodles at one in the morning without waking her ‘spouse’ - she’s desperate to be married and desperate to be noticed.
I'm glad that at least for a little while the Mr's J has stopped, her name is Louisa, Jack, nothing in her name has a J, so you are essentially calling her Mrs Jack and claiming ownership over her 🤮, since your supposedly some woke out there person if someone else was doing that and it was brought to your attention you'd have an issue with it... Not sure that spouse is much better, she has a name, people know her name, just bloody use it, she uses yours on her platforms so show her the same courtesy 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been both sides, rented properties in the past and now as a landlord. It entirely depends on the landlord as to what you can and can't do within the property. We allow our tenants to decorate and use the garden as they see fit. I don't allow any structural changes and I wouldn't allow gas cooking in an out building 💁‍♀️ I'd be extremely worried if anything went wrong insurance wise.

Jack probably wants a new woe is me story so a house fire could work, then she could beg her stans to donate for her to replace things lost

I would like to dedicate this to all fellow Tattlers experiencing that feeling when your dealer doesn’t turn up with your 10am hit.

That's another worry if mine if she has no insurance then her landlord is totally accountable with his and if a fire is caused by her own purposeful negligence then would it void his claim? Kind of like leaving the window open and being robbed. I don't knock her for having a hobby but I don't think she has thought it through at all ( which again is fine as we all get carried away) but if she had or just carried on without thinking she could have endangered herself.

She has said many times she doesn't have insurance. You, as a landlord, what insurance do you need to provide, if any? Bricks and Mortar or? I'm not up on this stuff but contents insurance is what tenant needs, or should have.
