Yes it takes a long time with children let alone adults. Children's diagnosis is usually swifter as it can influence education pathways and identify support required throughout developmental years. It won't be a priority to diagnose adults unless there are symptoms/traits that are having a detrimental effect on daily life. I found in children's services it's a long period of being referred on from one professional to another. Takes a long while.

I dunno but if I was being burnt alive and Jack comes in and starts crying at me about that one time she couldn't afford eggs then I might be a bit worried.

My son has been tested for a whole host of behavioural things and it takes an age. He doesn't have anything according to all drs, a bit of dyspraxia and dyslexia which made him act out bed behaviours, since we been working on those measures his behaviour is much better now. It didn't happen after one or two appointments but actually all in took about two years

Hi, new poster here who has an autism diagnosis. No, your GP wouldn’t diagnose autism - if you think you’re on the spectrum, you go to your GP and ask for a referral to a specialist psychologist who then takes you through multiple assessments and tests. And these assessments are extremely thorough to account or exclude for co-morbid conditions. In my case the whole process took about 3 years due to lack of funding for adult diagnosis.

There’s no way she went to her GP and they diagnosed autism on the spot, so I’m calling bullshit on her claim.

She’s also previously claimed to have sold the curtains. I’ve never rented a property that didn’t have curtains, and I’ve never been bothered enough or had the money to replace curtains I don’t like with my own in a rented property.

I do think the media has had a major hand in letting her run riot with these tall stories because they don’t stand up to much scrutiny at all.
