You can all breath a sigh of relief. I know you've been rooting for me. It's been the most stressful day of my life. I was on pins. My stomach was turning like a butter churn. I could hardly sleep last night. I had done my preparation, spreadsheets, closed all tabs, fully charged my phone, registered my credit card. I was like a ninja ready to pounce...

I got my Kylie tickets!!!

As you were, I know that it means as much to you all as it did when Jack got her Oasis tickets. You know, the ones she made her 14 year old pay for. The ones she made such a song and dance about because it was trending everywhere. You know, the ones for the group her and her son are super fans of that she's never, ever mentioned before.

Those tickets.

How'd you do @Geetbo?

Soooooooooooo happy for you! :)

The massive disconnect with the way the msm have gone after Labour's gifts, compared to the previous incumbents, is nuts.

Grifters will grift though, whatever side of the centre you're on.
Innit though.

"Boris Johnson has been repeatedly caught saying racist, homophobic, sexist, misogynistic comments. Want me to do anything?"

Lifts up rug and sweeps evidence under.

"Keir Starmer has received some gifts"

CALLS THE POLICE, AND THE DAILY MAIL

FWIW I don't think anyone in any position of power should be accepting gifts, however the disparity is (as always) hilarious.

When I worked for the local council it was strictly forbidden to receive gifts from anyone that was/or could be in the future providing services to the council. My partner (not left, etc) is a senior civil servant, and likewise can not receive gifts. Not even a free lunch, or bottle of wine.

Why do elected representatives in local or central government think it is right for them to receive small gifts, let alone holidays and clothing? It stinks.

I'm sure Guest's foray into local government, sticking her nose in where it's not wanted, is an attempt to get in on the freebies, lunches and overseas fact finding missions that the councillors seem to get.

Could not agree more. I am a recently retired Civil Servant & as you say, could not accept any form of gift. Nobody in public life should be able to accept gifts/bribes.

If you make stopping the rot a cornerstone of your campaign and manifesto then literally perpetuate the rot within days of coming to power it’s going to attract a lot of attention.

I work at an ‘arms length body’ from central government and under no circumstances must we accept gifts. Unless it’s culturally inappropriate to decline a gift, then we have to log it and it gets stored/displayed etc unless it’s food and can be given away to food banks if appropriate.
guest wouldn’t last a day!!!

I've also bought the Oral B toothpaste 😁

I'm wondering if MancBee should have his own thread in the 'Influencers' forum?

Back on topic - strange how our favourite Sarfend slopmeister is so quiet during Labour conference. I know she w̶a̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶v̶i̶t̶e̶d̶ t̶o̶l̶d̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶w̶ ̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶f̶a̶c̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶ sadly couldn't attend due to sad ouchy ankles but, what with her being the bestest most socialist Labour activist, you'd think she'd have a thing or two to RAGE and CLAW THE WALLS about.

Makes you think 🤔

We have a US government client where I work. If the client relationship manager forgets herself and buys a cup of coffee for her opposite number, we have to immediately invoice the client for the cup of coffee. It's a ballache, let me tell you. "Dear client who pays us £loads every quarter, we're not due to invoice you £loads until next week, here's an invoice for £6. Please make sure you pay the currency and transfer charges, thank you." One time they forgot and the £6 invoice cost us £25 😁

I can’t believe how excited I am about this. It’s like titmas all over again!
