I bought a pair of Irregular Choice Miaow boots to wear with my coated black skinny jeans last year. They’ve not been out of the box since New Year’s Eve 😔 I normally wear New Look trainers but am currently sporting a pair of multi-coloured Rocket Dogs which I got half price during lockdown. I want DMs to the point of going to the shop in Brighton last year but the wearing in malarkey puts me off - I have easily blistered feet!
I’m 55, most of my friends are late 40s to mid 50s and Converse and Vans are the general footwear of choice.
Longtime lurker here, but needed to chime in - been wearing only docs for 15 years and can safely say the best way to get them is second hand, newish, so someone's already worn them in but they still have years of life left in! Buy a size up, wear them, love them and be comfy forever! Right, back to lurking x

I'm on an early morning ramble but as someone who lived just a few years ago on soup and toast and fruit and yoghurt because I could barely get myself out of bed and only ate when my stomach was really gnawing i thought I would share what I did when I found a little more energy that just opening a tin of ready prepared soup.

Tesco do a tin of mixed beans in spicy sauce. I tipped that into a saucepan with the same amount of water that filled the tin. Added a pinch of cumin and chilli flakes and a tsp of veg stock powder. While that was warming i would crumble a few tortilla chips on a plate and top with some (pre) grated cheese and microwave for 60 seconds. After which I would need to separate the chips with a couple of forks to stop it being just one lump.

Once the bean soup was hot, if I had it I would add fresh coriander or a good pinch of frozen from the freezer.

I put half the cheesy tortillas in a bowl, added the soup, rest of the tortillas on top.

Followed by tinned/frozen or fresh fruit and Greek yogurt.

I'm still here (thankfully) x

Dude, really. I just bought that yesterday too 😣

She doesn't deserve such good lighting in her house. So many of the rooms look so bloody airy.
It really is a crappy lovely bungalow.

I thought this about the nook, but she’s lucky her landlord has given them decent carpet throughout.

I’m still traumatised by the flat I visited many years ago where the landlord was doing it up after a problem tenant, and he asked if we’d be okay with brown carpet because he figured the stains wouldn’t show up so carpets wouldn’t need doing as often?!?! I was stood there thinking duck me has it really come to this, are you telling me someone’s done a number two on the floor we’re currently stood on? And not only that but you’re considering how to better hide this from future tenants going forward??
Our last house, the landlord hadn't changed the carpet in almost 19yrs of it being a rental. It was awful, weird stains, and cigarette burns. I laughed in the agents face when she said we'd have to pay for it to be cleaned on leaving as we had a dog, and told her I would not be doing that (and I got my full bond back!)

A bit of both perhaps same with everything else, whatever will gain the most for her at that particular point in time. Sometimes she's a successful author, sometimes she's a struggling freelancer. Who's asking?

Mr ChickenPorridge and I are currently renting a beautiful but small place abroad for work reasons, we dream of one day owning a small house back home. We had our first child in our early 20s and were both working supermarket jobs and renting an absolutely disgusting end terrace that was riddled with damp and mould when baby #1 was born. We're far from where we would love to be right now but damn proud of how far we've come!! The reason I started following JM in the first place was for inspo on cooking cheaply as we are trying to save every spare penny to make home owning a reality. Wouldn't catch me with a Burberry coat at the minute, just saying!
This ❤️! She made her USP cooking on a budget and tried to make out she was the same as the people she was appealing to...so would it kill her to say “I dreamed of owning my own home by now and it hasn’t worked out but I’m lucky to rent this lovely place and here’s how I’ve made it a home for me and SB”.

There are obviously plenty of people on Twitter who love attending her frequent pity parties...

Morning Fraus👋 some of the replies from Iain Lee’s post, her usual sycophants with hero worship. She has “literally saved peoples lives” oh hail Saint Jack 🙄, plus some not so impressed “sorry you were sick on your plate”🤣 Even Iain said he needed more sauce (not of the horse spunk variety though 😂)
Despite her twitter break she has recently liked the post 🙄🙄

A pack of 6 postcards EVERY month for £18.76, mother of God, you’d be drowning in them if you’d joined a few years ago, although that general feeling of wellbeing would be such a boost for a person 🤔

Just why?!

Random hair dye on the shelves as well? If you've moved those shelves from all over the house why fill them up with crap rather than books?
And out of all the many rooms in that Tardis of a bungalow why would you make a reading nook in the darkest place in the house? Why not make it near one of the many windows, that must let in a lot of light as it always looks so bright and airy!

Would love to know if people really receive this each month or if anyone has subbed and forgotten all about it.

Then the icing on the cake 👇🏻

This is just 🙈, I can’t believe she still has this up there!! ‘Keep me ticking over’ “struggling to keep my head above water’ WTF with all her expensive items (Dyson, Cotswold furniture to name ONLY two)in the house and last minute weekend away to Edinburgh 😡
Plus the most recent update on the site is from April 2018 😳 She sure seems to take her Patreon followers for granted. She has over 190 current members 🤯

Also, we know Jack's mail service, and there's absolutely no way people are receiving even one postcard per month on the regular.
