Mr Beds went to a grammar school in Lincolnshire (they’re ten a penny around there) - aced the 11+ but his brother was just below the mark required despite a lot of tutoring (a story for another thread but his parents are very much grammar school snobs). His mum appealed and part of the appeal was the fact that Mr Beds was already at said grammar school. MIL is adamant this was a key part of the success of the appeal but who knows.

At uni his mates were all Kent grammar school alumni - it was like a weird old boys club but for grammar school attendees that they all gravitate towards one another.

It was at uni that this naive country Frau realised that not all education is deemed equal - but I’ve mithered on long enough now.

I’m still on a grunk - but has she woken yet? When I heard the clip of Will Smith shouting ‘get my wife’s name out of your mouth’ at Chris Rock I immediately cringed at the memory of Jack talking about MR.
