The government does some incompetent things, but inviting someone who buys kids small pears in order to disingenuously make a point on social media about how small pears are as someone informed and reliable really does rank near the top!

When hearing oral evidence, committees have the power to require witnesses to answer questions. In practice, evidence-taking before committees is conducted with a degree of informality and such powers are seldom used. A committee also has power to take evidence on oath. If the procedure is used, which it has on extremely rare occasions, witnesses are liable to the laws of perjury.

This from the Government's literature on being a guest on a committee. She lied more than bleeping once, do her for perjury, lock her in the tower!

Has the second squig mixed her up with Morgan Vine?

@Geetbo well she has no reaction to them because she doesn’t read here anymore - she said so herself… 🤥

I think "a mate" reads here then phones her up and tells her all the nasty things people say about her.

I would love an AMA with "a mate".

Right, I’m off to watch some more Inventing Anna on Netflix. Anyone seen it? All about a grifting con artist who lies to everyone, falsifies her credentials, and keeps it up forrrrever, as everyone’s embarrassed they fell for it. Bit fantastical really, I mean it just wouldn’t happen in real life, right? right?

They do have to specifically say they are taking evidence under oath, unfortunately. And they only do it when someone has been playing silly buggers for quite a while.
