My brother has ADHD and he's v similar in the fact that he starts something, gets really excited about it then moves onto something else, rinse and repeat. I've posted most of this before in one form or another, but eh:

From pictures of Jack's hands I could believe there is some amount of arthritis there too, to be honest.

In terms of ADHD / Autism, I have been diagnosed with both, at the ages of 7 and 17 respectively, and I agree regarding the ADHD. In terms of Autism / ASD / Asperger's (my actual diagnosis is the latter) it's certainly *possible*. The oversharing is an obvious thing which sticks out. I should know, I do it here 😅. There is also a substantial overlap of ADHD and ASD traits.

I am slightly more skeptical about the ASD actually being professionally diagnosed though. It's notoriously underdiagnosed in girls¹ and Jack is the same age as my brother, so would have been a kid in the mid 90s, when it would have barely been on the radar for a lot of doctors (which is also why I could also buy the whole "identified as gifted" thing, because that wasn't an uncommon thing for people with ASD in that era).

¹I'm a man, as I've made clear before, but its useful to point it out here.
