Her argorance and the fact she cannot cook. If she came out and said yeah was a bit skint survived on mush and here are my recipies please buy them then that's one thing but she makes out she's up there with actual proper chefs that have worked their arses off to get where they are and then there's tantrums when she's not picked. That's were it went wrong in my opinion.

@Flash123

The sloppies were thread 120 😁 just realised that the link in that post is broken now and obviously with it being an old post I can't update it, so if you want to view the desktop version you can here:

Was definitely a highlight of 2020 for me seeing all your reactions and the generous donations, I've never felt so much like I was part of a community online before I joined the fraus, and you're still to this day the funniest and kindest group of people I've met online. (Sorry if I'm talking wet 😂)

We - a bunch of nameless faceless ninnies - probably did more to help others on the week of the sloppies than a certain z list activist/writer/cook has over the past 15 months, even with all the contacts and influence at her disposal, I was so proud of us.

Can't imagine where we'll be by December 2021 (especially if Jack keeps up this disappearing act!) but I hope we get to do it all over again 😁

Specifically @Lanie I feel you are referring to Gorgonzola semifreddo with shredded olives which she once served at a thing.

🥺 cabal please don’t banish me, but to me that is not appealing, not mackie level disgusting, but I would not want to eat it sorry 😞
I think it looks OK - but he has done here what Jack does - just adding tinned tomatoes and reducing them with no stock (as far as I can tell). I hate that as they get so tart and concentrated and are unpleasant. Jack did the same with poor Marcus and the meatballs. Set your teeth on edge.

I thought his recipes were OK compared to Jack. Nothing too exciting. The main issue for me is that they’re not really ‘£1 meals’. Like Jack, I feel he takes a tiny portion and claims ‘it’s just one pound for this dinner’ but if you make enough for a family you’re going to spend £5-6.

But I am a greedy goblin. And I like recipes that are generous with leftovers for lunch.
Yes! His main complaint was that like Jack the '£1' portions were incredibly small and not satiating enough or low in carbs and protein, plus you inevitably have to spend more than £1 because you can't buy 7p of pepper etc.

I miss late 90s vegetarian option at fancy places- red pepper and goats cheese filo parcels. I got really annoyed with them back then, not appreciating that replacing the meat at Xmas dinner, or any main meal at all.
Now it’s all butternut squash and kale risotto. I like squash, but risotto can duck off. I like chewing my food.
On topic- I hope Jack is learning about “hubris” they were breadcrumbing that they had a slot on This Morning for months until TM cleary said no in unequivocal terms. Then there was the tantrum about losing their slot because of slightly undercooked pasta.

I’m going to say Nov-Dec time but will have a search. I think it was Poca or Alansbigplate who created it in a rage.
@thedowager try thread 125, and if you find the Brexit Tin Thief origin story let us know!!!!
Risotto can indeed duck off.

Also places where the only vegetarian option contains mushroom for both the starter and the main course,, can duck off as well

Yes it basically comes down to that

I don't think I'll ever get over the cringe of Jack saying she took Marcus to one side and (can't remember the exact words mercifully) 'gently and softly' explained to him her poverty story while he quietly listened.
Does he really not follow her? 😂 And he strikes me as a very nice kind person, so there really must be a good reason why he doesn't, or was advised not to. Odd since Jack 📞him, it said so on her chart.
Can you imagine Jack meeting an amputee and taking them a side to gently softly explain her splinter story.

Slightly OT, have folks seen the stories about Diana Hentry, a very good cookbook author? Over the past 18 months she has been seriously ill, breast cancer and then vasculitis, but kept it off social media and got on with her treatment and her life. Such an inspiring story, unlike the awful JM and their searching for sympathy (i.e. money!)
I’ve just read this! I had seen mention of vasculitis but had no idea about how serious it was, never mind the cancer! And she just kept working, I think? I ❤️ Diana Henry, have loads of her books, and return to them regularly. (As noone ever says about the smoke pixie...)

I think she thinks she's a top chef because allegra used to let her hang around the Blackfoot kitchen and gave her onions to chop to keep her occupied

That was beautiful. Trifle defender has to be in with winning the Poca Plate this year!

on another note....
We are one month away from the anniversary of the day everyone had ice cream. We should

Bet Allegra came up with the onion chopping song and smol pixie forgot it, and the canal had to wait for the One True Bot to grace us with a root veg based ditty 🙄
I miss the £40 wallpaper adhd planner. I might search it and see what has progressed

Excuse you, Hotes, the olives were desiccated, not shredded! As you are a cooking peasant and not a celebrated maverick genius chef like Jacques Monroe or Monsieur Slopbot you would not understand that the delicate balance of such a dish would be RUINED if you shredded the olives.

RE: terrible vegetarian food provisions. I spent three months in hospital a few years ago and still have nightmares about how many vegetable crumbles and quiches I had to eat 😰 There was of course also an upsettingly gloopy mushroom stroganoff. As a bonus, one of the kitchen staff kept trying to dish me up fish meals despite me constantly telling her vegetarians don't eat fish, getting increasingly aggravated about it each time.

Edit: oh no, I'm making everyone sad!

Thread 106, good times, would recommend a re-grunk

I got bored looking and so I’ve used this one a cabal member has corrected for Fack

The wallpaper planner is one of my favourite items of Jack ephemera, it's like a timeless piece of art that you can find something new in every time you look at it. I too write all my best (stolen from Twitter) jokes on my planner. I decide at least a week in advance which one I am going to use and hope it lines up with whatever is going on at the time. There's nothing worse than spontaneous and/or original humour.

I was laughing until the hospital part! The fish thing was all too real.

The wallpaper planner was also indirectly responsible for launching the Ewerhythmics - if I hadn't suggested Jack look into bullet journals and posted a picture of mine with a task that read 'Check Nibbles' foot', they would have remained in obscurity forever!
Forty squid a roll! Nope don’t believe someone would spend forty squid! On wallpaper to use as a jotter
£40!
