I love how we live rent free (like Jack for the past 8 months) in her head. There's a press article from 2014 that says two lads bought it to turn it into a 'hotel of the future' with high tech in it.
The description of the state they bought it in is interesting.
Basically it was falling apart and dodgy as hell and they had to gut the place. We weren't far off the mark with 'slum landlord'

Well that was when it was gutted, refurbished.
It could still be owned by them and managed by someone else I suppose.

She did a massive ranty post a few months ago saying that her Dad had inherited a flat unfit for human habitation and it was tiny.

And grandad took in waifs and strays no one else wanted, which very much sounds like one of the B&Bs that take emergency cases like kids out of care / newly immigrated / ppl out of prison / etc etc and take their housing benefit. A lot of the huge travel lodges they put up in east London for the olympics that have never met capacity since do this too.

ETA that was a sweeping Jackie generalisation - a lot of the ones I know of** I should have said. That are outside of the ~gentrified areas.

In that DIY Facebook group someone was posting from the other day, Jack claimed that her navy sofa (bought around the time she & Louisa moved in together) was the first new piece of furniture she'd ever owned.

Talk about making up for lost time...

She was one of THAT MAN’s fifteen apprentices and worked for him for a good while.

I have one of her books ( a modern way to eat) and I love it for many reasons.

If she is now in Jackalong’s niche our dear heart will be fuming.
