"Keffiyeh terror scarf" is going up there with "terrorist journalist" for me.
America, the UK, Israel, etc. have really learned just how effective a tool of fear the word terrorist is. It's been fostered to immediately bring to mind an Arab Muslim man, despite the many terrorist attacks at the hands of white Christians.
It seems like we're now primed to label any violence from someone we think might be Arab as terrorism, while the same violent act by anyone else is simply an act of violence by an individual.
With this priming of fear and distrust, we're seeing anything linked to Palestine or Palestinians, whether cultural dress, the flag, or stand-ins for the flag to avoid censorship labeled terrorist or terrorist-sympathising.
Can't help but wonder how many of the people who see what's happening in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon as "necessary for Israel to defend itself" would be a lot less supportive if they weren't primed to be constantly fearful of Islamist terrorism, and noticed that they're being conditioned to view all Arabs as terrorists.
