I use Twitter for complaints. When a company neglects to respond to me I contact them via there and suddenly they are quick to respond. Plus to check if there is something global wrong with banking app, or internet or is it just me . In Covid I found it invaluable. I stopped watching news and other media - they were sensationalist. My head couldn’t take it, so I got my news from Reuters news feed, just straight forward reporting. But other than that Twitter must surely have had its day. I read today (was it on here?) that Musk is upping the 280 character limit to 4000 I think! Imagine that! I thought it was meant to be short n snappy comments, not essays.
I had a flight cancelled one time and contacted Delta Airlines on Twitter. It was my first flight alone and was lost in the Minneapolis airport and having a panic attack. Delta immediately sent an agent to find me 😭 and walk me to a gate and got me on a flight. I was actually quite shocked they did that. My twitter is mostly politics.

Yes, it has it’s uses I guess. It’s like everything on the Internet, both a blessing and a curse.

I’ve just watched (and commented on) 15 minutes of the second Markle debacle. I can’t cope with Malice’s bush, whether we’re talking about manicuring, topiary or otherwise. I want to be able to sleep tonight.

Kitten has decided to take up residence on my half-landing: he’s over his gastroenteritis and is back to being destructive. His tummy is becoming rounded again, thank goodness!!
How innocent they look when they sleep (in a full curl with a twist)! So innocent that we forget the shenanigans of wakefulness. I have two tuxedo kitties (siblings) and even at two years old there are random thuds from all over the house during the four hours they are awake during the day.

And AE could never handle a cat. Too independent for the likes of her.

My Mom's Dad died the day before Halloween 52 years ago. Us kids were 12, 10, 5 and 3. She proceeded to make Halloween miserable for every one of us for years. Still now, as soon as Halloween decorations come out - "I hate Halloween."

Alice - you are a fecking bleep. Pull yourself together.

My mother died in the hospital just after Mother's Day when I was a young teen. The last time I saw her alive was when she was reading my Mother's Day card. It all happened very suddenly. So Mother's Day is always a little painful for me. I've had to learn to mother myself since then. And I continue to do my work to heal old trauma.

Like you, I don't weaponize my loss or grief. Unlike us, Alice lost her mother as a full grown woman. She's had the resources to process that loss in therapy, something many can't even afford. Her loss also happened 25 years ago, though I am sure it still hurts.

Sadly, bad things happen. We lose people we love. We go through divorces. We get sick and we fight like hell for our lives. Those who have children or mother little humans they didn't birth put them first. They focus on giving them the best and happiest lives possible. They choose life over loss.

They get the duck up off the floor.

She needs to step off the self-pitying rumination train and walk away from being the saint of perpetual victimhood.

No one is coming to rescue her.

Also, ❤.

Snap!
Same here.. tho I do enjoy the silly "dad jokes" and animal pic accounts it takes away from all the seriousness on one's feed x

My dad died in front of me on Boxing Day when I was in my 20s. You can imagine Christmas has mixed emotions for me. I had a troubled relationship with him, but it was still a massive shock. We had a big family outing somewhere, we went out as a group of 6, and walking home just a few hours later, we were 5. Weird. Life can change in the blink of an eye. My mum died when I was 13. You are right @Mad Betty - she needs to get off the floor, stop playing the victim, life is for living, but it’s finite and she’s wasting time.

I find it frightening that she’s insinuating to her large followers that he’s a stalker and has an “unusual and creepy” interest in her kids and talking about going to the police. There’s a follower talking about contacting his clients and basically trying to slander and defame him as well.
We know what she’s insinuating, I actually think the guy has a fantastic case for defamation and loss of earnings. If he’s lost business because of her lies then I think that’s gonna cost her a pretty penny.
