Interior Design Masters #2

I think this season really showed how the judging doesn't work. Matt, who was consistent throughout, lost out to Roisin, who was on the sofa a number of times. I don't think it should be judged on just that week, it should be cumulative, throughout the season, because the previous week, for Anthony to leave when it was his first time on the sofa, was also wrong.

Roisin's finished room was her best effort of the season and it did look good but I don't think it was suitable.

Matt's didn't look as good in practice as it did in the diagrams but it was more suitable.

I don't like any of Roisin's La Redoute products, they don't stand out.

I’m waaaay behind on this but need to express myself! I think I’m in the minority but I’m glad Domhnall went that week. His behaviour in the chat in the sofa was giving alarm bells and I do think the children’s chairs were his idea. He said he got them just in case the client wanted a children’s space which makes no sense because when the client briefed them beforehand she said she didn’t want children incorporated into the design.
Plus I was fed up of him using his crappy graphic designs all the time.
Have three episodes left!

Michelle is still annoying me. Her advice changed and she still can’t say successful.

I've really enjoyed seeing Banjo as a judge on Scotland's Home of the Year if you're needing an interior TV fix (I've also finished the LLB Channel 4 programme with lots of amazingly bold homes). Does anyone else have any interior-y shows they recommend to watch whilst waiting for the next series to hurry up?

See I wanna watch Scotlands Home Of the Year but I HATE the narrator - she does the news sometimes too and her voice goes through me 😂

his designing the hebredies series was great! i like your home made perfect (maybe more architecture) and the george clarke ones, can't remember if it's old house new home type or amazing spaces that i've been watching recently. there's a segment where they go to the manufacturing facility of a certain furniture piece and then utilise it in the finished design, usually a period appropriate classic. i get a lot of interior design content from youtube now though!

I used to love that Extreme Home Makeover
Sending the families to Disney world whilst they fkin bulldozed their house and gave the kids a very literal themed bedroom that they deffo wouldn’t outgrow in a year
MOVE! THAT! BUS!

Ok, just finished the show now. I loved Roisin’s dressing room and the bedroom she did in the final challenge with the pink curtains. The other rooms were a bit much for me. But I liked how she became more confident at the end of the show. I think Matt’s dressing room looked a bit corporate with the chairs but I thought it was a nice alternative for an artist who wanted a more chilled vibe, a more masculine vibe. I did like Ben’s feathered lamp haha.
Matt really surprised me because on paper I should hate him - I loathe brutalism and think it’s the worst thing to happen to the country (aesthetically) but he made it work. Just read this interview with him and for a young guy he really has his head screwed on and seems genuinely nice. I’m glad him and Ant are friends and they worked well together! https://uk.news.yahoo.com/interior-design-masters-final-matt-smithwood-200024846.html

Such a shame how Domnall turned out. Like Matt said it’s a very wholesome show, it’s family friendly. And he’s sort of killed that vibe for himself with his antics.

I wish there were more client briefs and somewhere a bit different to transform this series. The Nun’s bedrooms were cool, something like that. Maybe even like a hospice room for children (though that may be too emotional?) but something different than shops and travel places
