I’m doing it for my daughter- day 1 I’ve just got the elf out with her advent calendar and a letter from Santa some people go all out and I do not have that level of creativity

Ha, I do a letter too. Ellie is hanging out the letterbox holding an elf letter in elf paper I got from pound and 2 christmasses ago

I outright told mine it wouldn't be happening because it wasn't real and it would be me who'd be doing it. Brutal but dealt with the situation swiftly .

I was against the elf until my parents in law bought them one last year and the kids brought it home. But, seeing the joy it brought to them on the first morning after we got him was enough to convince me to carry on. All I did was fling him onto the Christmas tree. I don't do any elaborate things. Just move it around the house and they have to find it.

If I can be arsed elfie will get biscuits to decorate or but gingerbread icing and sprinkles. Husband just moves it around. Last year we made him a swing from the ceiling light
