I used to love This Morning in the late 80s into the 90s. I stopped watching it when it was no longer Richard and Judy - by then it was a jaded rehash.
Not reality TV, but an example of ITV flogging a dead horse.

Yeah the original series and the early ones were really entertaining; you had some real live wires, cancel culture wasn't a thing and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram didn't exist!

I agree - social media has played a part in ruining reality TV

I loved the early shows. Until itv started to make it clear who their favourite was and then proceeded to show them constantly. I think it started with Sheree Murphy. She was given airtime in every segment of the show and constantly in the Bush Telegraph. Very much like Josie is now
But she didn't win?

Every single episode is always the same. It’s very forced and fake. Believe me it wasn’t like that in the beginning, it was much more like Big Brother. There was even an overnight live stream briefly. Everything seemed much more organic. In series two they all threatened to walk abecause they were so hungry and we were shown it all. There was also John Lydon calling viewers ‘fucking cunts’ live on air, TPT telling Christine Hamilton to ‘shut the fuck up’, Brian Harvey quitting because he farted and Janet street Porter said it was disgusting. Its not the same show it used to be.
Them all threatening to walk would be labelled #SausageGate now. That was when Anthony Worrall Thompson was in and made them all go on the bridge over the lack of sausages. They got cocky though a few of them went back on the bridge a couple of days later to demand more food and they took stars off them for doing it.
How the hell can I remember that but not what I went in the kitchen for?
