I also live in the SE and I’ve found that there’s actually a swing the other way.
Kids want something ‘different’ or an unknown label or it’s cool to wear the cheapest item you can buy, or something ‘retro/vintage’ out of a charity shop or mum/dads wardrobe.

Also, teach your kids that material things don’t make you ‘better’ than others.

Surely the point of an election is you choose the candidate that aligns with you, if before you have even cast your vote their party's manifesto does not align then the polling station is where you "go after them" by not voting for them. Idiot.

Ach I think you might underestimate her on that one as I think she's highly manipulative and is clearly capable of things such as evading services (or duping them) and preparing a reasonable enough sob story for folk to donate hundreds of pounds.

There's a difference I think between social and academic 'intelligence' and being very well adept at the art of manipulation without having the former. It's pretty much basic school bully child tactics to reproduce what other people have said and present it as something that fits your own narrative and make you look like the 'victim'. Even kids can do it.

Very true, Jack Monroe is thick as tit but was an adept manipulator for years. It's innate with some people, as natural as breathing. It's only when they have eyes on them constantly (Tattle) that it starts to come apart. Intelligence helps but it's not a requirement to be a good manipulator, as we can see (gestures towards Canterbury and Southend).
