I completely understand why she's left if that's the case. Of all the things to be straight with. Don't blame her.

According to the Daily Mail article they've been separated for a while.

Speaking of their split, a source told The Sun: 'They separated quite a long time ago but have not announced it publicly.' The source added: 'Huw has been living elsewhere for a while.'

im sorry you went through that. I hope he got what he deserved, but as that’s castration and a pair of concrete boots I know it’s unlikely.

I think it sometimes depends on the person, the offence etc. I know of a case where someone handed themselves in. Walked into a police station and confessed. It was the victims family who got the knock in that situation. He’d already been arrested and was in custody.
Thank you 💛 unfortunately, as in so many cases, it came down to my word against his and the CPS deemed there wasn’t enough evidence to take it to trial 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m just hopeful that in this case justice will be done for the victim/victims and Huw gets what he deserves.

He took the coward’s way out originally if you recall when it was about to be officially discovered he was the perp his wife made the MH Social Media announcement.

Wonder if Philip Schofield is a bit gleeful? He may feel his unwise but not illegal actions are shadowed by Huw’s.
Nope, I reckon he's terrified..... all raked up , and online.

The papers will remind him...........😎😎

It is very awkward for the BBC, Huw announced the death of the Queen to the nation. They cannot use that in any future programmes about the late Queen.

He was also shoehorned into so many programmes, Kings Coronation, Queens Jubilee, Election nights, Brexit result night....
They cannot use any of that footage in the future.

I am surprised the BBC didn't have him presenting Strictly!!

Maybe the BBC should not keep using the same people over and over again...
ITV was the same using Phillip Schofield for everything...

I still think that *someone* high up at the BBC must have known about this. The fact that their announcement that there was “no way back” for him back in November last year coincided with the time of his arrest - could that really be just a coincidence? My guess is not.
As for Schofield - it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he had a few little photos from one or more of his under 18 “interns” or “mentees” or whatever he was calling them. I bet this business with Huw has sent a chill down his spine. 😕

Bringing this over from the last thread

There seems to be a lot of people saying gleefully that they were correct with their suspicions and that they can laugh now at those who gave him the benefit of the doubt. Whether you thought he was wronged at the time or guilty of more, there are now potentially underage minors who have been victimised! Grim, not sure it makes me feel like being “correct”.

I don't think it's anything to do with being gleeful or laughing. I don't think anyone finds this funny or something to gloat about.

But as one of those who knew there was something in it, the way the parents and the Sun were spoken about and treated was bleeping horrible. There was so much classism and misogyny.

Those junior bbc staff who spoke out were also treated like crap. And the man who he travelled to f**k during lockdown. All of it was dismissed, diminished, excused, laughed off, in order to defend this rich, powerful, pillar of the establishment.

It was a really vivid example of how the establishment closes ranks and how so many members of the public are for some reason desperate to do it for them.

They probably knew he was arrested. But there are pretty sound legal reasons why they can't say that.
They are just covering their own backs, as ever. Of course they knew.

So Huw is in court today.
What mitigating factors can he have?

Has he shown remorse?
He may try to use the Covid lockdown as some sort of excuse, his (forced?) repressed true sexuality, stress from work, mental health?

Will his previous ‘good character’ be taken into consideration? Presumably he has no previous convictions. Will he plead guilty eventually?

I don’t think he will get jail time.

The DM is not allowing comments on his news stories. Ugh!

Will we learn anymore about the charges today?

it’s unlikely. A first hearing normally just confirms name and address, lists the charges and asks for a plea in relation to each one. The judge will then decide whether to remand him or not. It’s very unlikely he’ll be remanded unless new charges are added (this can be done at any time).

If he pleads guilty, it’ll be adjourned for sentencing. If he goes not guilty a trial date will be set. Either way, it’s likely to be referred to crown court.

I also don’t think he’ll get any jail time

These are the potential mitigating factors he could use according to the sentencing council guidelines.

Yes, that information should be available. Anyone can watch court hearings, they’re open to the public. I expect the viewing gallery today will be packed with media, although obviously they can’t broadcast from inside the courtroom.

The only reason why information wouldn’t become available would be if the judge puts a media blackout on it until after sentencing. This is possible if he decides to go to trial as they’ll want to be very careful about protecting the case.
